Juan Williams Quote

“I am not a conservative but I have spoken out for years against the staggering amount of blind hatred directed at black conservatives by liberals. Liberals are shockingly quick to demean and dismiss brilliant black people like Rice, Carson, Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, U.S. Senator Tim Scott (R-SC), Professor Walter E. Williams and economist Thomas Sowell because they don’t fit into the role they have carved out for a black person in America. Black Americans must be obedient liberals on all things or risk being called a race traitor or an Uncle Tom.”

"why do liberals have so much hate for black conservatives?"

No one likes a suck-up traitor.

Robert, St. Emilion

Stupid quote, for many reasons.....

J. Allen, Arlington, Va

He is correct. Many liberals have a new type of slavery, one to their own ideology, those who stray must be metaphorically whipped.

Mike, Pleasant Hill

True Quotation. "No one likes a suck up traitor" Really?

There's a reason slaves are not permitted to be educated (an ignorant population is easier to control and manipulate) because then they can recognize the truth for themselves to be able to reject the spoonfed propaganda and lies of their master. The liberal Democrat plantation does not like runaways it gives the willing slaves ideas, and that can never be tolerated!

Frankly I'm shocked that Juan Williams can recognize this and still be a liberal, content to remain on the plantation, even after the NPR firing. Now that's the real Uncle Tom.

SCSURFR, La Mirada

Take out “black” conservative and replace it with conservative “female” and the quote basically still stands accurate.

This quote is the only thing I really like about Juan Williams.

Robert, St.Emilion, You say that it's a stupid quote for many reasons, okay, name one.

L. Hanson, Edmonton, Canada

I was going to give this quote some credit , but then I saw Fox News as the source.

Some progressive liberals know they are socialist --they are as prejudiced for their own secular religion as any of the 'racist' religious right. Other libs are simply in denial, all the while helping to fan the flames of hatred between to poles. There will always be a spectrum -- one has to ask how to resolve the fact that some are red and others are blue while others are yellow. It is not racist to resist the empty promises of social engineering which is simply a modern form of feudalism. The real racism is ignoring all those blacks who were able to keep out from under the thumb of the progressives who have put them permanently on the federal plantation. Freedom, responsibility, and independence are never to be found among the arguments for social engineering.

anonymous, so, in other words, you are calling the vast majority of blacks and women stupid, bigots, racial religionists, blind haters, dismissive of brilliance, socialists against a productive economy and suck-up traitors because they choose to better themselves (choosing freedom, liberty, law, justice, order, prosperity, love of their fellow man, etc.) at an abstract place you derogatorily stereotype as "Uncle Tom" hmmm

Fredrick William Sillik, Anytown

Mr Williams, despite your claim, you sound quite resistant to change, as I understand a "conservative," for as an advocate of change as I claim, I claim not  to be a member of a white people organization, but simply a person.
