Murray N. RothbardMurray N. Rothbard, (1926-1995) Dean of the Austrian School of Economics

Murray N. Rothbard Quote

“It is curious that people tend to regard government as a quasi-divine, selfless, Santa Claus organization. Government was constructed neither for ability nor for the exercise of loving care; government was built for the use of force and for necessarily demagogic appeals for votes. If individuals do not know their own interests in many cases, they are free to turn to private experts for guidance. It is absurd to say that they will be served better by a coercive, demagogic apparatus.”

"Government, in it's final analysis, is organized force". Woodrow Wilson.

Patrick Henry, Red Hill

As Benjamin Franklin expressed it:

"Men who believe in nothing will fall for anything."
Whence the fallacy that government is God.

E Archer, NYC

Indeed, right on.

Don Lee, RENO

Nope. You can't just lump all people and govt together as bad. The Bill of Rights is divine, the bureaucracies the left push are not. You have to dichotomy and be rational about it, and don't hook up with Rothbard's illogical feelings. The entire quote is a contradiction on liberty and justice.

Lame.  Again, nothing but ad hominem.  What is "illogical"?  What is the "contradiction"?
