Totally contradicts Von Mises above but I agree with Weil. Von Mises would take away are freedom and insist on us choosing the natual. Thus Von Mises denies and restricts freedom and Weil proclaims and extols its.

"The ability to choose"...without coercion and enforced compliance...is the key to freedom. As long as those choices do not involve force or fraud against others.

This would also include the right to choose your own doctor and not have some bureaucrat choose one for you. Just say NO to Obamacare.

Ben, a lot of agreement there but it would take volumes as to what you mean. Liberty's choices are limited only by injury to an innocent third party. Yep to all here, liberty's choices are without coercion and enforced compliance, ability to choose ones own medical care without bureaucrat intervention, and best when includes conscious thought.

The ability to choose your doctor is limited by your HMO who chooses for you who will be in its so called Network. Go out of the network and they won't pay. There are many more bureaucrats in the insurance industry than in Medicare. That is why the insurance industry and its' CEOs eat up 20% of each health care premium dollar while Medicare only eats of 3%. I know of million dollar HMIO CEO's.
