Socialism asks me to deny my God given rights, and I'd rather be murdered by this police state than to surrender even one right. It makes sense that you socialist/communist/collectivist/anti-Americans would give this peace/harmony/love the world quote 5 stars. You'll change your mind when the BATFE breaks down your front door at 3:00 a.m. and arrests you simply because you were overheard saying "I can understand why the terrorists hate America" ... you citizens of the world will be considered terrorists because of your thoughts.

In other words, no matter where I'm from or what I believe, I am a human being and I have rights (like the right to have shelter and the right to not starve). This isn't socialism. This is a fact.

A citizen of the world has NO CLAIM to the treasury or the neighbors' property, Anonymous. 'Rights' do not require any one else to support. There is no right to shelter or food -- there is a responsiblity of every person to provide for themselves or possibly die -- that is a fact. An honest wage for an honest day's work -- that is a natural law if I ever heard one...

"The States Parties to the present Covenant recognize the right of everyone to an adequate standard of living for himself and his family, including adequate food, clothing and housing, and to the continuous improvement of living conditions."

I am a child of God, being a joint heir with Christ, my kingdom is also not of this world. My so sojourn on this orb is that of a sovereign individual with inalienable rights. Though my straw man may at times get a little physical - it is the straw man that may act with the citizens of the world

This may have been fine in Socrates world but not in mine. I'm a citizen of America and Texas and this quote smacks of one world government.

Socrates' "world" had no government or governance. His acknowledged place in philosophy was that of a SOVEREIGN
INDIVIDUAL, and his record transcended mere cities or states. And, oh!, by the way ... excepting that wars have heretofore been largely affairs of states (Islamic Terrorism being a possible exception) ... what evidence prompts the suggestion that "world" (presumably without city states or modern states) would be any less prone to war?
