Thomas Jefferson Quote

“It is unfortunate, that the efforts of mankind to recover the freedom of which they have been so long deprived, will be accompanied with violence, with errors, & even with crimes. But while we weep over the means, we must pray for the end.”

Many people at this time believe that they can bring about change by working to change government and to not use violent means such as overthrowing the government. What you would get using violence could be much worse. But whether it is possible to make change without force is also doubtful since anyone who disagrees with the status quo is placed on a list, relegated to the outskirts of the city to have a peaceful protest, and the powerful and greedy do not use fair rules. They have no rules. Seems we are now stuck with what is there, but that is a bleak thought.
