Let that sink in...as we have HOW MANY elected officials representing us in DC? This is from The Freedom Index published 12-7-2009. 4 Reply Bette, Newport 4/13/10 re: Justice Hugo L. Black quote Are there still journalists? I was unaware. We have actors and actresses on various 'news' stations, but how do we get news...the truth and unbiased real news? I search and search........... Reply Bette, Newport 4/13/10 re: Andrew Jackson quote I am the same...fighting for the US Constitution and Bill of Rights AND some folks seem to have selectve remembering. Reply Bette, Newport 4/12/10 re: Andrew Jackson quote I like it and wish I was living then instead of now because we have really got our work cut out for us. We want to be a nation of people with 'inalienable rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness", it is our job to defend our US Constitution and Bill of Rights and challenge those in office or remove them. Then we will have to begin thel long process of repealing the laws that show contempt for those documents. 3 Reply Bette, Newport 4/8/10 re: Alan Paton quote Poor generation x. It has lost out on values, thinking, learning right from wrong, having a God, or caring about their neighbor, or their own liberty. They move thru life instinctively pandering to immediate wants and desires with no concern if what they are doing is right as long as it IS expedient. Must all be politicians. 1 Reply Bette, Newport 4/2/10 re: Edmund Burke quote Morality is a decision/concept by the larger body of man about what does and does not hurt others. Our various religious books expound on these very same ideas. Yet many ignore the wisdom that has come before, over and over again. People may have certain inalianable rights, again decided by men, as long as they do not harm others, but when there are people in power who do not care about others, the definition of morality may change to fit the situation. It seems a sad but true trend; one that often has one morality for those in power and another for the masses. Please don't lose sight of the fact that those in the Vatican are merely men and suffer all the imperfections of those outside the Vatican; not unlike we see in every government and organization in every corner of the globe. I cry for freedom. I see how this country has ended up with an inexperienced prex dead set on destroying the very fabric of this country. I am so sad for my children and grandchildren. I am old, this will matter to me little...I want them to know it was not I that left this legacy of shackles, for I was working to water the tree of liberty...that it was freedom that was the legacy I tried to leave them.... Of the people of this country? Of our Constitution and Bill of Rights? Our Founders? I am amazed at your comments. They could have been written by a very young child with no experience in the world. Perhaps they were...in which case, I have no doubt you will come to understand later. Please don't vote until then. Reply Bette, Newport 3/11/10 re: Reverend Martin Niemoeller quote I think this speaks volumes and is fore-telling...we see this happening now...we just don't know if we will have an equivalent to Dachau..... Reply Bette, Newport 3/2/10 re: John Dryden quote Yes, JK, especially now that education-hisory- is being rewritten to eliminate history of the USA and is becoming a subversive tool for the state... Reply Bette, Newport 2/27/10 re: John Locke quote Real freedom doesn't test the iq of the citizens. In a free society each person can chose to function in the manner their gifts and graces allow; fool or thinker, washer woman or tinker. Wish we had enuff folks who would support freedom and not condone what is happening, but we seem to have a lot of ostriches...head in sand, butt in air...and that will be kicked, and the time is getting closer...
