This quote is not about voting, nor is it about him wanting to murder his neighbors because he is paranoid and sees organized criminals all around him who have what weapons they want regardless of laws. It is about the 99.8% law-abiding citizens who have the right to own any and all "arms" they want to stand against the few criminals. I'm not sure he's an idiot ... just a liberal-socialist. Reply Joe, Rochester, MI 5/3/07 re: Alanna Mitchell quote Individuals make up a collective. If each individuals is important ... the collective is better off. Reply Joe, Rochester, MI 5/2/07 re: Rep. Elbridge Gerry quote If militias are good in the United States, why are we destroying militias in Iraq? 4 Reply Joe, Rochester, MI 5/2/07 re: Alexander Hamilton quote One way to be equal to an army of the government is that the body of citizens are allowed the same weapons (i.e. pistols, rifles, shotguns, machineguns) with the same features (i.e. magazine capacity, bayonet lug, pistol grip, silencer, sight, etc.). "...the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed." Reply Joe, Rochester, MI 5/1/07 re: Thomas Jefferson quote I'd love to see a law requiring adult to carry at least a handgun. I believe violent crime would decrease. If violent crime skyrockets, then abolish the second amendment and take all guns away, even from police, FBI, etc. Reply Joe, Rochester, MI 5/1/07 re: State Gazette (Charleston) quote "...who take up arms to preserve their property..." May God have mercy on criminals. 1 Reply Joe, Rochester, MI 5/1/07 re: John Trenchard quote "...and a Man that hath a Sword by his side, shall have least occasion to make use of it." Exactly why I carry a handgun, that I may defend myself from the nutjobs of the world, but God willing I will never need it. 21Reply Joe, Rochester, MI 4/26/07 re: Vladimir Ilyich Lenin quote ...in the U.S. socialism is arming government agents (BATFE, FBI, police, etc.) and disarming other citizens (middle class, poor, black, women, etc.). The rich don't require arms because they are able to hire body guards and extra police, which the rest of us cannot afford. I can afford arms (a handgun or six, rifle, shotgun), but no body guards. Lefty, I think Lenin meant what he said, arm the loyal party members, disarm the average citizens. 7 Reply Joe, Rochester, MI 4/25/07 re: Benjamin Franklin quote Reston, I don't carry a concealed pistol with the intent to harm anyone ... I carry to prevent (or stop) violence against me. If only agents of the government have the might, then they must be right? Like the Nazi's, or KGB, or Communist China, eh Reston??? Each of these very helpful agents murdered millions of souls. 3 Reply Joe, Rochester, MI 4/25/07 re: Benjamin Franklin quote Self-defense is violent and aggression is peaceful??? As with most liberal-socialist thought, it's backwards. Self-defense is to prevent violence, not pursue it. It doesn’t get more violent than two wolves quartering a lamb at lunch. Reston is obviously one of the wolves who wants lamb for lunch, and is upset that the lamb won’t voluntarily sacrifice itself for the greater good ... his good, certainly not the lamb's good. Reston’s scheme is to eat lunch first, THEN let the lamb challenge the decision. Oh yeah, there won’t be a lamb to protest after lunch. Problem solved, eh Reston? It’s too bad the authenticity is suspect with this great quote. 21Reply Joe, Rochester, MI 4/25/07 re: Samuel Adams quote Interesting ... the liberal-socialists have nothing to say. Reply Joe, Rochester, MI 4/23/07 re: Eric Hoffer quote Freedom unbalances, irritates and goads those who would stifle our liberties. Reply Joe, Rochester, MI 4/23/07 re: Archibald Macleish quote I'd love to see more of us think for ourselves more often, including me. Reply Joe, Rochester, MI 4/20/07 re: John F. Kennedy quote The liberal socialists are playing right into the hands of the current government, which is afraid of its citizens. One of the best examples ... The Patriot Act. The TSA, BATFE, FBI, police, and the rest search our persons, our homes, our papers, even our computers (our effects), without a warrant or probable cause. All rather unconstitutional according to the Fourth Amendment. 5 Reply Joe, Rochester, MI 4/20/07 re: Georges Bernanos quote Dead on Archer! I agree with Norwalk. 3 Reply Joe, Rochester, MI 4/20/07 re: Declaration of Independence quote I'm a sheepdog. When the wolves attack I pray they have not quietly stolen my guns without my knowledge. 31Reply Joe, Rochester, MI 4/20/07 re: C. S. Lewis quote Ohhh ... that sounds so nice. Socialism is so inviting. But government promotes and protects itself at our expense. They eavesdrop on the husband and wife, they coerce the friends to have only one beer (taking three beers worth as taxes), they tell a man which books he can read and what and where to plant in his garden. Government is more like 1984, and more so with each passing day, than a utopia. 2 Reply Joe, Rochester, MI 4/20/07 re: Sir Winston Churchill quote Reston is WRONG again. If my money goes toward taxes, I don't have it to invest, save for retirement, purchase needed items for myself or family, and generally spend to support other businesses. Prosperity is spending my money how I want. Was that Groucho Marx? hahaha ... MY ability is great, but WHY would I work hard only to have my money taken from me and given to someone who is as capable of working hard but finds it easier to simply be lazy? Those with needs (i.e. welfare) go from needing basic food and shelter to whining for steak and satin sheets ... that is as long as someone else is paying for it. Rather like Congress, who have a fantastic retirement plan. When they retire, each month they will get many times what I make each year (i.e. they only need hamburger and cotton, yet they take steak & lobster and silk & furs). This is why the USSR collapsed ... SOCIALISM DOESN'T WORK! What will I have when I retire? Probably cans of dog food and thread bare jeans. LOL 1 Reply Joe, Rochester, MI 4/20/07 re: Van Panopoulos quote I know Washington is killing me with each new tax and it "feels" like capital punishment. LOL 1 Reply Joe, Rochester, MI 4/20/07 re: H. L. Mencken quote LOL ... "It all depends on how you define moral???" Now THAT is liberal double-speak if ever I've heard it Norwalk. The worst government is the one which makes so many laws everyone is a criminal without knowing. The "moral majority" are fanatics who think only they know what's right, and will do or say anything, even immoral, to prove they know what is right ... for them, for you, for the country, for the world. And of course, your thoughts, rights and beliefs don't matter, because they are right. 2 Reply JOe, Rochester, MI 4/20/07 re: Gilbert Keith Chesterton quote "Correctitude" is now the Politically Correct (PC). Living use of words means, for example, the 2nd Amendment used to say each of us has the right to own and carry guns, but now it means only some of us has that right and only if you jump thru hoops and regulations and aren't crazy and ... Reply Joe, Rochester, MI 4/20/07 re: Auberon Herbert quote How about taking some action on true remedies? Reply Joe, Rochester, MI 4/18/07 re: Abraham Lincoln quote What a great idea, if you can't borrow money then make your own! <--- sarcasm ... Lincoln controlled the crisis by controlling the money, increasing government control over the people. Today's crisis? The global warming scam (will cost us billions of dollars). The new world order (the United Nations) is leading the charge, banks will profit, and our freedoms will be decreased for the greater good of saving the world. Ice ages have occurred numerous times over millions of years. Temperature has gradually increased with natural variation for 40,000 years, but Al Gore (not a scientist but a politician) selectively shows we are all doomed in 50-100 years by looking at 1,000 years of natural temperature and CO2 (only 3.5% of the air around us) variation. 95% of the greenhouse effect is caused by water vapor, the other 5% by ocean biological activity, decaying plants (leaves), volcanoes (near their mouth is a really dumb place to measure average CO2 in the world), animal activity (cow dung), and other factors that Gore totally ignores, because they don't help his emotional presentation of global doom. Control the Crisis ... Control the World 4 Reply Joe, Rochester, MI 4/18/07 re: George Washington quote The United Nations seems the largest foreign influence currently assaulting our freedom. Using the guise of democracy of getting half to agree that all must now follow will destroy our Republic and lose our liberty. 2 Reply Joe, Rochester, MI 4/17/07 re: Thomas Jefferson quote One evil is government. Another is the media. Look at Al Gore wrongly persuading the government to spend billions of our tax dollars on projects that will yield no benefit. It is in the complicit interest of the media to scream "global warming" rather than "natural cycle" since disaster yields higher profits and ratings. Future generations will think what fools we are to be swayed by emotional hysteria. Previous 25 Next 25 SaveOk2 Share on Facebook Tweet Email Print
