Each citizen has the right to own and carry any "arms" they choose...knife, staff, sword, spear, handgun, rifle, etc. Citizens have the right because, as the Second Amendment (the original carry permit) justifies, we need people who know how to use arms to keep ourselves and our country safe and free. It is an INFRINGEMENT by government to ban silencers, calibers, assault weapons, switchblades, large capacity magazines, etc., simply because a criminal or terrorist may use one of the tools illegally. I carry because if a criminal or terrorist commits a crime I may be able to defend myself and stop the crime. 2 Reply Joe, Rochester, MI 3/7/07 re: John De Armond quote I'd add coerced, Norwalk. Most law abiding citizens will obey the law of the land, even if immoral or unethical. It's sad when POTUS asks what the definition of "is" is, in order to cloud his impeachable actions. 1 Reply Joe, Rochester, MI 3/6/07 re: Catherine Bertini quote To get food from you a starving person will agree to whatever you ask in order to survive. If that person survives to adulthood they will resent you for meddling in the affairs of their country. Reply Joe, Rochester, MI 3/6/07 re: Benjamin Ward quote The Constitution provides for direct and indirect taxes...which is income tax? What law makes me liable to pay income tax? Ask the IRS these questions and you'll never get an answer. Why? Because it would point out we aren't required to pay taxes. 1 Reply Joe, Rochester, MI 3/6/07 re: Ayn Rand quote Reston and Sarasota are so blind. Reply Joe, Rochester, MI 3/6/07 re: Katherine Graham quote That people like Katherine Graham think they know what is good for me is truly communist and anti-American. People like her often act unconstitutionally with an excuse of "it's for your own good." Because there are dangers in this world is why I carry a concealed handgun. Reply Joe, Rochester, MI 3/5/07 re: General William Westmoreland quote Confusion is the result of our government feeding us propaganda but the public sees the attrocities of war every evening. 7 Reply Joe, Rochester, MI 3/5/07 re: General David M. Shoup quote Freedom! We quit telling other countries what's good for them. 13 Reply Joe, Rochester, MI 3/2/07 re: David Rockefeller quote New World Order = unAmerican. Reply Joe, Rochester, MI 3/2/07 re: Daniel Berrigan quote Mention "children" and emotions fly, logic goes out the window, even more so when you also mention "abortion." Everyone is a child and deserves life. A woman may choose abortion, but I prefer she doesn't, and tax dollars should never be spent for her to do so. Berrigan is obviously a liberal socialist. Our government should NOT be attacking other countries, killing people. 3 Reply Joe, Rochester, MI 3/1/07 re: Justice Potter Stewart quote Restricting what people may view on the internet is censorship. Parents may restrict what their children view online, but adults should be able to view anything they want, from pictures of adults having sex to how to make crystal meth. Reply Joe, Rochester, MI 3/1/07 re: Charles Darwin quote Example: global warming Reply Joe, Rochester, MI 2/28/07 re: U.S. Department of Defense Planning Guide for 1994-1999 quote The U.S. is a bully to every country in the world. Reply Joe, Rochester, MI 2/28/07 re: Dean Acheson quote Forget the "democratic political practices," it's the Constitution which should make it difficult. We are a Constitutionally Limited Federal REPUBLIC ... NOT a democracy! Reply Joe, Rochester, MI 2/28/07 re: Alexander Haig quote In this day and age, firing one nuclear weapon will probably lead to firing them all on both sides. Reply Joe, Rochester, MI 2/27/07 re: Charles E. Wilson quote War runs the world. Look how many we are currently involved in. Those claiming to be pacifists are simply overrun by anyone with a gun. Those without sophisticated weapons are only able to fight as insurgents (i.e. Iraq, Afghanistan). UN confiscation of small arms from groups of people leaves them vulnerable to groups who still have guns. This is why genocide occurs in places like Darfur. Thank God in the United States "the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed." 4 Reply Joe, Rochester, MI 2/23/07 re: Neal Boortz quote Government schools DO teach children that government is wonderful. This is why we need less government controlling schools. Reply Joe, Rochester, MI 2/23/07 re: Huey P. Newton quote I don't see blacks creating positive black images, male or female. 1 Reply Joe, Rochester, MI 2/23/07 re: Paul Miller quote How are people like this running things? 3 Reply Joe, Rochester, MI 2/23/07 re: Charlton Heston quote People are allowing their rights to be taken without so much as a whimper, all in the name of political correctness. Reply Joe, Rochester, MI 2/20/07 re: Richard Shortway quote Ya gotta pay to play. If you can't pay, you ain't gonna play. Reply Joe, Rochester, MI 2/20/07 re: Peter G. Peterson quote Many people just want to escape, want someone to tell them what to do and want someone else to be responsible for their problems. Peterson is giving the people what they want, but they don't realize how much they are losing. 1 Reply Joe, Rochester, MI 2/20/07 re: Houston Chronicle quote I would hope he was fired right after making this statement. 3 Reply Joe, Rochester, MI 2/19/07 re: Edward Bernays quote Very true. Though I hate that our government does it. Let's get back to the Constitutionally Limited Federal Republic we are supposed to be. 1 Reply Joe, Rochester, MI 2/19/07 re: Aldous Huxley quote 75 years old. Wow, how true today.
