In divide this quote into 3 parts.I believe the first statement of this quote to be true.I believe the 2nd statement of this quote Can be true in the proper context but this is where my Individualism kicks in.Things don't have to be the way they are or seem.When you change the way you look at things,the things you look at change.The 3rd statement in this quote I disagree with.I do not believe that the State is the conscience or universal will of man.

I would add to the last sentence of this quote.The "proper end of man" is not Only the realization of his character and human potential but,I would add,the application of his most honorable traits in life so that the lives of others may be enriched.To have accomplished this is to have succeeded in life.
