Reply Me Again 6/10/08 re: John Adams quote That may have been true at one time but look at the 21st Century American leaders and,I would say, they are contrary to this quote.Possibly because our concerns as American citizens are no longer valued? Real Eyes Realize Real Lies! Reply Me Again 6/10/08 re: Gen. H. Norman Schwartzkopf quote A great quote. It may not be the single most important ingredient but it ranks in the top 3 I would say. Reply Me Again 6/9/08 re: Thomas Sowell quote I don't quite understand this quote. Reply Me Again 6/9/08 re: Calvin Coolidge quote The last sentence of the quote gets 1000+ stars.A wholesome regard for the memory of grat men of long ago is no "assurance" to a people of great men to come but I would say that a wholesome regard for the memory of great men of long ago is most definitly an inspiration to the great people of noble and honest character who might lead our nation in the future. That is the only assurance I can be sure of. Reply Me Again 6/6/08 re: Mary Wortley Montagu quote To this quote I say:"Yes and no". Reply Me Again 6/6/08 re: Lao-Tzu quote I would say of this quote:Your duty in life is to be the most venerable person you can be.Such individuals make this earth a better place to live because they have lived.Take the challenge. Reply Me Again 6/5/08 re: Robbie Gass quote 10,000 stars for this quote. Any quote which seeks to elevate "the human condition" is tops in my opinion. Reply Me Again 6/5/08 re: Lydia M. Child quote It seems to me that the quote is refering to ones "guardian angel". I agree with the quote. I think it's sound advice for those who will listen. Reply Me Again 6/5/08 re: John Updike quote I agree that essential support and encouragement comes from within. To begin with anyway. The rest of this quote after those words makes no sense to me. 2 Reply Me Again 6/4/08 re: Oscar Wilde quote Individualism is our only real choice in life.We can be no other person than ourselves even if we are trying to be like someone else. Many people have similiar opinions about different things and our thoughts maybe influenced by the words or actions of others but there is still an aspect of Individualism present in each of us.Maybe there are some people that fit into the guidelines of the quote above but I would not say that MOST people do. Reply Me Again 6/4/08 re: James A. C. Brown quote I can't identify with this quote."Fear of freedom of self-hood" makes no sense to me.We all are our own selves. 1 Reply Me Again 6/4/08 re: Anne Morrow Lindbergh quote I've crossed paths with people who thrive on being insincere with others. I guess it somehow makes a small mind feel big/more powerful or important because they have put another person down. I would bet that acting in an insincere way to another person would take a lot of energy out of a person who is genuinely sincere. The genuineness of the person would dictate the genuineness of the sincereity, in my opinion. Reply Me Again 6/3/08 re: Johann Wolfgang von Goethe quote One Million Stars for this quote of great significance to the development of Self. Reply Me Again 6/3/08 re: C. Arthur Campbell quote All people are responsible for their actions whether moral or not.Free Will is a precondition of all responsibility (in my opinion) for without Free Will, there is only action born of coercion and I don't believe that people should be held 100% accountable for their actions performed out of coercion but I agree that Free Will is a precondition of Responsibility, moral or not.
