As for "Bama" as far I as know the vast majority of people are glad to be here (USA). While we may not agree on the definition of "tyranny" I think it is fair to say we are headed in the wrong direction and government is out of control. please don't assume the direction I see as "right" to be the same as yours. Good morning gentlemen, I think we over analyze these sometimes, but I am not familiar with Edison Haines so I may be wrong. As I read the quote it brought to mind the fact that people have and do disagree on how to treat other people and because of this many terrible crimes against humanity have been sponsored by nations. As civilized people our nation has gone through some troublesome times and committed our own crimes, but when we come together and agree that something is wrong then we do have an obligation to change such behavior. As for inalienable rights particularly those of divine nature there is some ambiguity here (on this thread) as to what "rights" are. If you are born in Dafar you might look at nations like the US, England, Germany Canada etcetera as glutinous and greedy (if you could see) maybe it is our inalienable right to drive gas hogs to work with one rider while there are hundreds more going the same place at the same time and so on. Maybe it is our inalienable right to spend hundreds of billions in the middle east (would we if there was no oil, just a question) and nip and pick at world hunger. The truth is God has given mankind the ability to choose and mankind has chosen to limit other mens choices. Please I welcome correction.

Hello gentlemen, I think the quote even in it's fractured state would be obsolete today even by Madison's standards. In the early nineteenth century it was unimaginable to have such a global threat as we have today. The threat of world domination has been around for a long time now and the nuclear element makes it a "instant" threat. Persians, Greeks, Romans conquered their 'Known worlds" The Muslim's under Mohammad, English, Danes, Spaniards need I say more? Hitler? Unprovoked is my point. Our nation is rather large and to defend our boarders we need a ready and able military.

Truly a great statement by Mr. Henry. Again I here this same rhetoric from you gentlemen (all be it true) but I wonder what are "we" doing? Are we living the American dream (delusion) Buy, Buy, Buy consume, consume, consume (insert subliminal message) and then coming here and pointing our fingers. I ask this in sincerity as I have an aunt who has decided not to be a part of such a culture. She is a retired pediatrician who worked her whole life for free clinics and lives in a very small one room home she had custom built. No running water no electricity pays no income tax. She drives a 1985 jeta converted to burn bio fuel. However extreme it may seem she is someone I respect for walking the talk. I see a lot we can do, but are we doing? The fact is most of you supporters of Nofziger's ideology don't realize that your comfort zone will be gone with this type of archaic approach to control of government . Too suggest that our government is "evil" in nature is not a reflection on some obscure group but on the American people. I wonder if any of you would be willing to sacrifice for your country in public office. I would not, so I will do what I can vote! and not for the incumbents. If we really want change then lets vote for change for the next 10 years every incumbent gets ousted! Excellent point Robert loans are actually bought and sold as "commodities" are. Credit is used as forced labor, but it is the willingness of the people to buy into the "consumer" model projected by product marketing today. It seems subliminal "you must consume buy buy buy!". Waste in this nation is surely at an all time high and recycling must find it's own mandate. The "this is better than what you have" and the "because your worth it" propaganda has created a large servial populatiuon bound to there desires to obtain more stuff.

Thank you Mike for that perspective and I do admit it alarms me and I will do the one thing I can Vote! What we need is someone willing to get in office and not create more laws but extinguish some of the loop hole laws. Is this possible without a socio-economic collapse? Perhaps some "grass roots" local governing bodies cities/townships could start the move?, but who is willing in today's economy to make such a sacrifice as it will bring big brother (aclu) down like a hammer.

I will not rate the quote as I am unfamiliar with this organization, but I am familiar with the WTO. The point I would make is; those with money and power want to keep it. What is the number one and two threat to their money and power. Would it be economic collapse and government collapse? If you have a one world system the threat is all but eliminated. The global economy is at the door.

OK I am ignorant to this line of discussion but I see something strange in a couple of post. 1) referencing a "3000" page transcript as a way to "be informed" and comparing philanthropy to the patriot act. The quote seems hollow; however Mr. Gaither believed it sounds ridiculous as in plausibility. Let me see if I can simplify this for my own understanding. The simpler the laws (say 10 commandments) the more freedom? A view which I support. The process starts by "interpretation" of said laws ie "well Mr Smith has extenuating circumstances there for the law needs to be amended for such cases" and this is progressive until we have ten thousands of laws (current) which are constantly being scrutinized or "interpreted" to fit a single situation (often benefiting the guilty). So we now have inhibiting rules for the "just" and just as much lawlessness because our laws "like a pyramid graph" have grown away from the laws of nature (your choice of wording) of Christ my word choice.

I agree Mike although I struggle with the legal mumbojumbo in the referenced case it states "Acts of Congress are the supreme law of the land only when made in pursuance of the Constitution," so any "treaty" thats "starts" wrong (reference above quote) as you have stated is void.
