They sowed their evil seed for 22 out of the last 30 years. Now Mr. O is just watering and harvesting. Your uprising may have to wait its turn. As far as being new Billy I have never seen your post before. If Mr. Woods cannot see how inheritance cradles and protects us will I just don't know about his reading and thinking abilities. Reply Waffler, Smith, Arkansas 10/15/08 re: Ludwig von Mises quote Yeah Mike I am not in lock step with anyone including the SDA. Organized religion can take you so far, I mean look at Palin she is a self proclaimed Christian and a State of Alaska proclaimed iunethica person and now even lies about the report against her. Ken from Milford you have it correct sir. You have a pont RKA but community leaders, Mayors, Governors, Presidents are the leaders of government which is the preeminent leader of society. There are also other community leaders but they don't have the force of "law". They do have moral suasion. Reply Waffler, Smith, Arkansas 10/15/08 re: George Bernard Shaw quote Americans are also the greatest taxpayers in the world. We have a civic spirit and pride in our country not found everywhere, and rightfully so, I might add. Reply Waffler, Smith, Arkansas 10/15/08 re: Adam Smith quote "Chiefly" is the operative word here. Most folks enjoy having a supportive and cooperative, rather than an antagonistic, society, community and governemnt. Thus what we are seeing today is the desruction of Reganism and Rovism. I read an article yesterday that stated the current Prez election is scientifically proven to go to the Democrats. The way the PolSci guys scientifically prove it is by extensive surveying of public sentiment over the last year or so. The seeds for the current Republican debacle was laid by the Republicans and Reaganistas themselves. Any Democrat would win. Obama is just watering the seeds of their own defeat that the Republicans have planted. Arkansas is great I drove through there once but don't live there. 3Reply Waffler, Smith, Arkansas 10/15/08 re: Bo Diddley quote Like also don't make statements you cannot backup. Like a guy on this site who says that the IRS is incorporated in Puerto Rico and therefore has no jurisdiction in the 50 states. Further he says that a corporation only has a jurisdiction in the state of incorporation. Can anyone confirm this gentleman or is he delusional or an unrepentant liar. Once a liar always a liar, so I would like to get the lowdown on "whether he is just a mouth with no tail". 2Reply Waffler, Smith, Arkansas 10/14/08 re: Frederic Bastiat quote Owning things, being "rich", is an albatross around our necks, but using things that is the way to go. 12Reply Waffler, Smith, Arkansas 10/14/08 re: Ludwig von Mises quote "Being rich is not owning things it is using things." Socrates. Mike you know nothing about my religion, so quit talking like a dictator. My formal religion is as a Seventh-day Adventist so now you know and you can therefore shut up! And of course the Bible tells us that being rich is knowing that "My father owns the cattle on a thousand hills." No one is rich in this world we are only passing through and using things for awhile. 5Reply Waffler, Smith, Arkansas 10/14/08 re: Frederic Bastiat quote I think he is correct but it is not a fiction. Most people given the opportunity will seek to live in a better state or society than in a worse state or society. Why else is it that the illegals and legal aliens wish to come to America. If y'all would prefer to make it on your own without the "state" or "society" why don't y'a go to some dirty little Mexican or African village and make a life for yourself. While y'all bash our government and society the new arrivals are counting their blessings. Here we have "free" libraries, "free" running water in city fountains, free education etc. all at the expense of everybody else. 5Reply Waffler, Smith, Arkansas 10/14/08 re: Sergei Hoff quote At first I thought the quote was from someone like Paris Hilton or the children of Bill Gates or other wealthy progeny. And so my initial answer would Yes! Yes! Yes! let me have my inheritance so that I may fare well. And while you are at do away with any "welfare" for anyone else. "It is only right and just that I should fare well but why should others get well fare." Most people that can get their hands on a bundle will go for it whether it is daddies or Uncles, I agree that either way it is unbecoming. Lets eliminate inheritance and let folks work for a living. 2Reply Waffler, Smith, Arkansas 10/14/08 re: Ludwig von Mises quote We, man that is, is richer because of government or at least I know that I am. Let me count the ways: the Governments of Pennsylvania and Rhode Island secured for me religious liberty, the Continental Government secured my political liberty, need I go on. Government is simply society in action. My community and its government gives me so many untold and innumerable riches that I am at a loss and out of breath trying to enumerate them. Being rich is much more than just cash in the bank. 2Reply Waffler, Smith, Arkansas 10/14/08 re: Frederic Bastiat quote Does anyone know whether or not corporations may have jurisdiction outside of their place of incorporation? Some on this site says that the IRS is incorporated in Puerto Rico and thus has no jurisdiction outside of Puerto Rico. Many US (all incorporated in one state or another since corporate law is under state law) and foreign corporations do business in the US and all over the world. Corporations of course have the same rights as individuals and as we know we are free to do busy anywhere. I don't know about the PR thing but the IRS Headquarters Bldg is in DC. Can anyone expound on this for the benefit of those who say that the poor IRS is stuck with just doing business in PR where there are about 2 million people. 2Reply Waffler, Smith, Arkansas 10/14/08 re: Alan Greenspan quote The village idiots were the ones that got rich in the California Gold Rush while most of the searchers for gold either never got any or lost all they had by paying $5 for an egg etcetera. Gold ain't for shit! It is worth about as much as the old saw "a republic not a democracy". Of all of the commodities in the world I can think (oil, coffee, corn etc) I would prefer any of them over gold anytime. Reply Waffler, Smith, Arkansas 10/13/08 re: Ayn Rand quote Just watched "The Fountainhead" yesterday. Basically defends the right of an individual to be an individual and build anykind of thing he wants without community direction. That wont go in some of the Alpine Communities, or Southern Charm communities I know about. Regional, ethnic communities may feel they need protection from such rampant indiviiduality. This points out the shallowness of Ayn Rand. 4Reply Waffler, Smith, Arkansas 10/13/08 re: Frederic Bastiat quote Let pragmatism be our guide. Wealth comes from the "poor", if the "poor" have more money the "rich" will find ways to get it. In my town we are a southern town of a few industrialists and old wealth and a lot of "lower class", If it were not for the lower classes we would not have the top feeders. Legal plunder is just another form of plunder and different only in perspective from the plunder the "classes" inflict upon each other and is probably a way to keep the system going for the benefit of all concerned. Were taxes to stop piracy and plunder at sea a form of legalized extortion? Are the Somali pirates within their rights to continue their trade without interference from tax supported (plunder supported) governments interfering? Reply Waffler, Smith, Arkansas 10/13/08 re: Ayn Rand quote Very appropos this AM. I just heard that the UK Gov is taking over RBS. "Ayn Rand is arguably one of the most notorious names in the philosophy community...... an idol of the young and naive, and a scorned outcast of the philosophic community." The reason Mike you pale in redundancy is because you don't dig deep enough. You are Mr. Redundant with your victimless crimes etc. I give i star for effort by that is all because Mrs. Rand was a jerk. 2Reply Waffler, Smith, Arkansas 10/13/08 re: Alan Greenspan quote If gold is so great and of steady value why does it keep going up and down on the stock market just like oil, corn and beans and all of the other commodities. Gold is about as useful as seashells on a barren island. 1Reply Waffler, Smith, Arkansas 10/10/08 re: Milton Friedman quote Jim K will you answer my question about whether or not the IRS is incorporated, and is it incorporated in Puerto Rico, and does it matter? You are so great at knowing what is nonsense you should be able to handle that. I repeat Milton here is just throwing up a bunch of hot air, obviously to date there has not been any feasible alternative offered. If he any you are so smart why do you not offer a feasible alternative. This the problem with you radical types, you don't have anything to offer. You just know that you hate everything, misanthropes that you are. 1 Reply Waffler, Smith, Arkansas 10/10/08 re: Milton Friedman quote Feudalism was free, the dukes and earls owned everything and with the way things are going we might be returning to that with Trump, Buffet, and Gates. Gates and Buffet have a real common touch however ans say they will not leave their children billions just millions. 13Reply Waffler, Smith, Arkansas 10/10/08 re: Milton Friedman quote "If' is a big word, and not to mention "feasible alternative". If Milton is so smart why dosen't he say something positive and give an alternative, feasible or not, rather than just bad mouthing the apparent only thing we have. I say apparent because independent central banking is a world wide phenomenon. 31Reply Waffler, Smith, Arkansas 10/10/08 re: Milton Friedman quote Person to person dealings can be free with out regulation but in the modern world economy with complex instruments and transactions regulation is a must. I question whether the concept "free market" economics and political freedom are really the same thing. Political freedom includes the right of a people to unite and do things for a common purpose, this common purpose may be anathema to economic freedom and some economic freedom can be anathema to the common purpose. Reply Waffler, Smith, Arkansas 10/10/08 re: Charles A. Lindbergh, Sr. quote You are a pig Archer, why do you dare speak for Jim K., and even then you answered none of the questions directed to him. Again you are a pig! Reply Waffler, Smith, Arkansas 10/9/08 re: Andrew Jackson quote Thanks again I do appreciate it. I know I throw my pearls before swine so keep groveling pig. Reply Waffler, Smith, Arkansas 10/8/08 re: Andrew Jackson quote I treasure being called names by the likes of some contributors on this site. I consider it a high honor. 2Reply Waffler, Smith, Arkansas 10/8/08 re: Andrew Jackson quote Congress is apparently given the power to issue money, I don't know that that power says that the 535 members must personally issue the money hand to hand from their own pocket. They have set up a mechanism for issuing money and they should regulate that mechanism. Being called names and having the likes of some people on this site use invective against my comments and me is a badge of honor that I wear proudly. Name calling and invective is proof of a weak argument, defense of a weak mind, defense of lying, and dementia. In face to face discussion the name caller will usually resort to shouting, a sure sign that he is wrong.
