Andrew JacksonAndrew Jackson, (1767-1845) 7th US President

Andrew Jackson Quote

“Gentlemen, I have had men watching you for a long time and I am convinced that you have used the funds of the bank to speculate in the breadstuffs of the country. When you won, you divided the profits amongst you, and when you lost, you charged it to the bank. You tell me that if I take the deposits from the bank and annul its charter, I shall ruin ten thousand families. That may be true, gentlemen, but that is your sin! Should I let you go on, you will ruin fifty thousand families, and that would be my sin! You are a den of vipers and thieves.”

in 1836, Jackson forced the closing of the Second Bank of the U.S. by revoking its charter

God help us as Bernake is about to expand the powers of the FED to total freedom with the American economy. The Federal Reserve is a private org of international bankers. This is the privatization of our very currency and economy and will rip this country to widespread poverty.

papou, mamaroneck

When the bond crash comes, and it will be a doozie, interest rates will go sky high. It is about a year or two away.

Gordo, Philly, USA

I'm interested in verifying this quote - but so far no one even lists a source (which could mean its fake). Why is there are "source" listed here that isn't a source? I like the content of the quote though.

Liberty, USA

This quote has new life thanks to the great Wall Street bailout of Oct. 3, 2008. Also known as the day the United States turned to socialism.

We hold this truth to be self evident

Bryan Morton, Stuart, FL

The Ludwig von Mises Institute made an educational video called "Money, Banking and the Federal Reserve" which is very good. It is available on YouTube. 42 minutes long, but worth the time.

J Carlton, Calgary

Andrew Jackson was an American hero. And I wonder if this quote doesn't point us to the real cause of the Civil War...the "Emancipation of Bankers"

Waffler, Smith, Arkansas

So the Federal Reserve is not so bad after all. At least it is not as bad as the Second US Bank. It may be psychological human nature to always criticize something that is perceived to be big and greater than the self (the ego). Banking has been criticized throughout the ages, rememer Shylock in the merchant of Venice? I would suggest that banking is the marvel of commerce and society, let us regulate, regulate and regulate.

J Carlton, Calgary

"I would suggest that banking is the marvel of commerce and society, let us regulate, regulate and regulate" An advocate of the 5th plank of the Communist manifesto?

Waffler, Smith, Arkansas

J obviously prefers Wall Street theives. What has he got worry up there in the land of good government and regs.

J Carlton, Calgary

Waffler, you don't seem very well informed about the Canadian government. We are so unbelievably stifled with government regs we might all just as well get government enterprise here has no hope at all. And you guys are on the way to joining us in that aspect.

J Carlton, Calgary

PS...Wall Street thieves can't be Wall Street thieves wihtout getting into bed with government. That's called Fascism. Both aspects need to go away so that free enterprise can reign. A seperation of government and business you might say.

Ron Paul would have killed the charter for the Federal Reserve System -- that is why no party will choose him as their representative. The revolution is coming -- and like the crash of the dollar, it won't be confined to America. When the people of the world align themselves against the banks, we will finally be facing the real enemy of freedom, prosperity, equity, rule of law, and justice. It won't be pretty -- but the price must be paid or it is global slavery for all. (Waffler, you are an idiot -- I don't have the energy to address your ignorance, especially since it is the foundation for your life.)

Waffler, Smith, Arkansas

I treasure being called names by the likes of some contributors on this site. I consider it a high honor.

E Archer, NYC

Oh, boo-hoo, Waffler, "high honor" indeed -- did I mention self-righteous, too? Every other post you include "some on this site think", yeah well get over it -- some people DO think. You have called people plenty of names. Here, I have a few more for you: hypocrite, sycophant, statist, ignoramus, Tory, house slave, fool. 'Treasure' them, for they are your legacy.

Johnny B' Goode, Dixie Hiway

"The real truth of the matter is, as you and I know, that a financial element in the large centers has owned the government ever since the days of Andrew Jackson." Franklin Delano Roosevelt Letter To Edward Mandell House (Pres. Wilson's top adviser) Edward Mandell House had this to say in a private meeting with President Woodrow Wilson: “[Very] soon, every American will be required to register their biological property in a national system designed to keep track of the people and that will operate under the ancient system of pledging. By such methodology, we can compel people to submit to our agenda, which will effect our security as a chargeback for our fiat paper currency. Every American will be forced to register or suffer being unable to work and earn a living. They will be our chattel, and we will hold the security interest over them forever, by operation of the law merchant under the scheme of secured transactions. Americans, by unknowingly or unwittingly delivering the bills of lading to us will be rendered bankrupt and insolvent, forever to remain economic slaves through taxation, secured by their pledges. They will be stripped of their rights and given a commercial value designed to make us a profit and they will be none the wiser, for not one man in a million could ever figure our plans and, if by accident one or two should figure it out, we have in our arsenal plausible deniability. After all, this is the only logical way to fund government, by floating liens and debt to the registrants in the form of benefits and privileges. This will inevitably reap to us huge profits beyond our wildest expectations and leave every American a contributor to this fraud which we will call “Social Insurance.” Without realizing it, every American will insure us for any loss we may incur and in this manner, every American will unknowingly be our servant, however begrudgingly. The people will become helpless and without any hope for their redemption and, we will employ the high office of the President of our dummy corporation to foment this plot against America.”

R. Pittman, FL.

remember the rock upon which the republic rest. cream will rise to the top. people will return to find the foundation of liberty. thats been covered by the sands of time. they will find men there watching to greet them back home no matter how small it might seem. hopeful in our rock.

John Adams, Atlanta, Georgia

What truths have come to the foreground shall remain in the shadow of dark minds and hallways and behind smoke filled back-room. We come upon dark times for America but as a few good men rose in past times, so shall good men rise again and cast out this evil and these wrong doings. To Arms Good and Wise Men for the when the King's Men sleep so will our time come!

Aleks, Chester

I wish the US had a president capable of such independent, open-minded, freedom and people rights orientated consideration as this: This guy just thought it through and said no. The present president cannot even say three sentences without a teleprompter...

Big Loser, Milheim, Pa.

The rich will rule regardless of the form of government or of banking. They always have & they always will, thru all war & apocalypse they will rule. They scheme & connive & conspire continually to fleece & rob & sicken & kill you. They rewrite history & scripture continually. They institute public & private schools, even science to do their bidding. It's called Plutocracy, or call it Moneyocracy, or Feudalism. It matters not in the least the name. The Plutocrats know this & always have. All else is noise & smoke & mirrors, curtains & closed doors. Thus the real super criminals remain free & the rest of us imprisoned in our own lives. For one man or any group of men, Jackson, Ceasar, Lincoln, Czar (who backed Lincoln & was killed along with his whole family by the so-called bolshevicks) to actually do anything about any of this is just absurd! For any war to be effective against them is ridiculous. For when the rich get their way, the war will end & not before, & it matters little who wins. The rich win. Period. ALL OTHERS ARE THE LOSERS!

Loser, Milheim, Pa.

The Super Rich are laughing at all this. They are in control & always have been. They sneer at you & your efforts at freedom. They corrupt everything you hear on the news, read in the papers or in the magazines. You have NO IDEA how corrupt & controlled the entire system is & always has been. Jackson was ALLOWED to run his course, he was set up like the rest of the pawns in that game. The Super Rich Looked on in amusement. Our history & our scripture are a record of nothing but a dog & pony show put on for the amusement of the Fascist Super Rich. Yes, that is the origins & basis of Fascism - all governement is based on military & police, but Big Money first. Force is the rule, the exception is irrelevant. Believers are dupes. Jackson, like everyone else was a mixed bag. Cherokees were only one of the tribes in that area at the time being run out of the east in that group. This happened long ago in Europe to all the European peoples in the same way: lies, tricks, broken treatys, wars of genocide, etc. the same as today. The Super Rich then as now. The real power is not on record anywhere.

Outlaw Banksters, Shelton

Unlike bought out quislings like Bush and Obama Jackson stood up to these scoundrels.
Bernie Sanders might be up to the task as well.

O was the worst of all the US prez. He set the precedent of complete sell out to the corporations and wall street.

The credit crisis of 2008 was supposed to be the defining moment to awake the society of the evils of over debited and over financialization. But O and his corrupt cronies were paid off handsomely for socializing 10's of trillions of losses on the back of the middle class and the pooerest of the world, not just the U.S.

They successfully turned around the most abusive and predatory, and insolvent banksters to the trillion dollar stars of today, sold our children down the drain and made a mockery of 100's years of contract law. They destroyed this country to the core and made $ worthless piece of toilet paper.

But hey he is on route to become a billioner!

    Fredrick William Sillik, Anytown

We don't need banks. We need a national community based distribution of goods and services where everyone is involved. A partnership built around the entrusting the goods and services in the hands of all of the participates of residences of the United States of America. It seems natural to lead into an international venture for optimum effectiveness and greatly welcomed by this sane representative.
