Sergei Hoff Quote

“Do we desire to be cradled, and then carried throughout life to our graves by this partisan propelled bureaucratic monstrosity? ...as individuals of sovereign dignity, are we now so terrified, bewildered, and impotent that our main purpose is to seek asylum from the potential hazards of freedom? Have we no faith in our natural strengths and abilities?”

We are right here right now. Now what?

Joel, Rochester, MI

Beautiful. If we are not too timid, we must now make a plan to take back our government, and put the plan into action. Spread the word ... we are NOT so terrified.

DON, West Bloomfield, MI

Keep your powder dry and your gun handy - you may well be forced to use them in the near future. So know how to use them. accurately and prudently!

Eric Engstrom, Wichita, KS

Montana is known for having good sense. No wonder he's one of their sheriffs.

Marc Richardson, www.SaveTheGuns.com

I love this quote. He truly sounds like one of the Founding Fathers. I think I'll use it in one of my upcoming Minuteman Monthly Newsletters!

Thanks for the quote

As put it..."Its time to play the man."

Un-Common Sense.

David L. Rosenthal, Hollywood

Five stars for inspirational rhetoric. I wish we knew where this was stated and in what context. Fact is, many do wish to be cradled. Many have not developed their natural ablities. And there is nothing inherently wrong with a natural desire to prefer safety to danger. As for the monstrosity to which Deputy Hoff refers, it certainly is a monstosity, and worth much attention, derision, and reform. Nevertheless, without a federal government, the United States would certainly be conquered. If it continues much farther down the path it is on, perhaps there will be no United States resembling in any way the one for which the American Revolution was fought. Since the complaints of those who fought the Revolution have not all been resolved, perhaps we should consider the Revolution of 1776 to be still under way.

This Quote is from an article titled 'OUR FEARS AND DENIALS WILL ENSLAVE US' by Sergei Hoff, from October 23, 2004 - NewsWithViews.com
Sergei Hoff is an ex-Montana Deputy Sheriff, a very charismatic, eloquent, and persuasive ex-Montana Deputy Sheriff at that, who is now a sculptor. This quote doesn't begin to do justice to the article.

10 stars at least.

Waffler, Smith, Arkansas

At first I thought the quote was from someone like Paris Hilton or the children of Bill Gates or other wealthy progeny. And so my initial answer would Yes! Yes! Yes! let me have my inheritance so that I may fare well. And while you are at do away with any "welfare" for anyone else. "It is only right and just that I should fare well but why should others get well fare." Most people that can get their hands on a bundle will go for it whether it is daddies or Uncles, I agree that either way it is unbecoming. Lets eliminate inheritance and let folks work for a living.

E Archer, NYC

Holy cow, Waffler, you say, "Lets eliminate inheritance and let folks work for a living." Yet another plank of the Communist Manifesto. It is obvious that you have nothing to pass on to your children -- you probably rent your little place or are mortgaged to the bone. Have you no respect for those that in fact DO WORK and save and want to pass that on to their children and grand-children? I suppose your wife shouldn't get to keep the house either if you die. What a selfish little brat that wants to keep everybody down because he was unable to keep anything of substance himself in his life. All those guns and heirlooms your father left you would have been confiscated by the state. What an utter fool you are. You are obviously alone, and but a mere child of the state. I cannot think of anything more unAmerican. Shame on you!

A.WOODS, Gloucester

Very well said, David L. Rosenthal. Waffler, your post doesn't make any sense. What are you talking about?

Billy Yank, Boston

A.WOODS you must be new to this site. Waffler has NEVER made any sense. Waffler wants us all to shut up and take our beatings like men. Of course Waffler wants to apply the beatings, and wants to never receive retribution. However the people are sick and tired of the abuse, and the climate is ripe for action. We are on the verge of uprising. How it will happen, or how severe it will be, will be determined by the tyrants. It will be their fault, and they will reap what they sew.

Waffler, Smith, Arkansas

The current uprising Billy Yank is the demise of Reaganism and Rovism. They sowed their evil seed for 22 out of the last 30 years. Now Mr. O is just watering and harvesting. Your uprising may have to wait its turn. As far as being new Billy I have never seen your post before. If Mr. Woods cannot see how inheritance cradles and protects us will I just don't know about his reading and thinking abilities.

Billy Yank, Boston

I have blogged before, guess you just haven't noticed. I try not to comment here but I could not remain silent any longer. The uprising that I am talking about is a peoples revolt. Just see what people comment on this site then multiply that by the thousands. Speak to people on the street and you will discover that everyone is incensed by what the senate and congress has done recently, not to mention in the past. People will only be abused but so long, then even the 90 pound weakling will eventually stand up to the bully. Believe me, if they don't correct their ways soon, it will happen. Stand back and watch. It has happened before and it will happen again.

roberto, queretaro, mexico

No doubt sounds very elitist and with all due respect to the writer who may be a brilliant person, i simply cannot get impressed by what a deputy sheriff of a small town in lovely Montana says.

Waffler, Smith, Arkansas

Right on Roberto, some people on this worship quotes from the backwoods. The remoter and more obtuse the better.

Waffler, Smith, Arkansas

Archer you always see with a jaundiced eye. As Billy Yank says I confuse and dazzle. You are always confused. I agreed with the Sheriff from Montana and you did not even recognize it. Getting money without working for it is the problem. From the point of view of the receipient it does not matter what the source is. Daddies money is just as corrupting as Uncles money. The Sheriff talks about the beauty of having faith in your own natural, strength and beauty. Having ones hand out for inheritance and being a couch potatoe, which you have often expressed a distaste for, is exactly what he is talking about. You abhor "welfare" making people lazy but its okay to make your own lazy, yeah okay I get it, I don't like it but I get it. What I get is that you speak out of whichever side of your mouth that suits you.

E Archer, NYC

Waffler, I sincerely doubt that Billy or anyone else on this blog find your comments 'dazzling' -- confusing, yes, but hardly dazzling -- dizzying maybe since they are founded upon double-think and the rhetoric of bureaucrats. Sergio was not speaking of those receiving inheritances -- he was talking about the oppression of government into every aspect of our lives making us perpetual dependents and children under the thumb of a "partisan propelled bureaucratic monstrosity." Before trying to take the splinter out of your neighbor's eye, remove the beam first from your own.

warren, olathe

You seem to never understand the quote Waffler.

Penelope, Boston

Remoter? Haha...I think Waffler means more remote.

jim k, Austin, Tx

Great quote, and thanks to Waffler and Reston for the Communist viewpoint. No need to subscribe to The Peoples World with those two around. They probably write in Gus Hall's name in presidential elections, wait, Gus is dead and we have Obama in his place.

If Waffler and Reston hate these LIBERTY LOVING posts so much then why do they even bother to subscribe to them? Do they actually think that they are impressing anyone with their collective, socialist ideology? Do they really believe that their Progressive and immature diatribes will turn heads and opinions? What their missives truly tell me is that they have nothing better to do with their lives, but to spend it trying to rile those who truly love liberty. What small and narrow lives they both must lead. Poor things!

Excellent quote..TY, mary, Waffer seems to like being told off, its not the first time...lol... I will say, this is one of the best sites ive encountered, for free uncensored speach. I am carefull of thier kind, {ones who try to encite] I feel they are trying to entrap me into saying something i dont mean, ya know what i mean?? Montana has great gun laws, and many common sense laws. Not long ago, many area had NO speed limit, yep.no speed limit, and i had fun, the speed limit was judged by the road and the car, and it worked well. Its nice to cruise at 100, in a good car, on a long road, with ones weapon loaded legally in the car. And, thier crime rate is LOW, becuase real crimnals dont go there, they get shot........one more reason concealed carry should be in all states.

J Carlton, Calgary

Very well said. The embodiment of being an American - The embodiment of Liberty are both buried deep in this quote.

Great quote, worthy of being among the likes of Geo Washington and the other Founders. Sadly, we have a population now containing many who would have him run out of town for offending them somehow (at least off a college campus).

" Breaking the Chains of Doubt that bind the spirit within man." There is an old saying in the High Country, for those that venture out in the winter, free the heal, free the mind ! The only way to walk in the deep snow. 2008 was a big year for Waking Up. Changes taking place, economic and spiritual understanding for many, many patrons of the absolute Truth. Small things it seems at first, but then gravity takes hold. For me, more so than ever before, preparation takes a long while. Details, details, details. Studying to understand that which divides a people, even within the smallest of circles. Desire to speak out, governed by a manifold wisdom, a lot of years to even understand what a manifold is ! Legally, applied doctrine coupled with expressions of emotional content by way of the Arts. A beautiful thing to behold ! It has been my experience here in this blog/forum, to speak out, receive correction, instruction by some of the most educated people on this planet ! I would like to thank all who participate. Thanks to the editor, attorneys, judges, officers of all types and all the different walks of life. Humbling to say the least. Many good mentors, teachers patient, who care for peace and reach for that goal. As also one can come to understand many more watch than speak, this from the top, to the bottom of all administrations, associations globally. Regardless of that or those that would divide, Absolute Truth of our Liberty and Freedom break the chains that bind the mind. Safe and Prudent, the sign used to read in Montana. Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas 2015

I love Yachats, having grown up in the area...nice to see some very intelligent being still exists in the little town (but for the city tax...yuk)...and at the time, in those olden days, most in the area were proud of their self reliability, self responsibility, self sufficiency and self determination, which they took other places with them. Yup, they would have been embarrassed to tears to be on the dole even if very hungry. Now folks march around whining if they are 'offended' or think they deserve what their neighbor worked hard for...times are sure different now, eh? No golden rule to live by.
Don't harm other peoples property; Don't take other peoples stuff; and Don't hurt other people. Wow, 3 simple rules to live by and EVERYONE would get along.

      J. Allen, Arlington, Va

Waffler's comment is a combination of two evils, envy and greed. Envious of those that have more than him and the greed to want the government to take it away and give a piece to himself.
