This justice has to be one of the best we ever had. Waffler, the Supreme Court is not supposed to interpret the constitution. It was only suppose to see to it that the courts conducted them selves properly. The congress was suppose to compare legislation to the constitution to see if it past the test. The court usurped its power and decided it was the final arbiter almost 200 years ago and the congress at the time saw no problem with this. Probably because it gave them less responsibility and more freedom to violate the constitution that they were sworn to uphold and protect.

Anonymous proves that his stupidity has no bounds. Great quote that is obviously true to any that have a brain but very well stated.

What a idiot anonymous is.

Eric your right. Robert you are a fool. What bias Jack. You have so much bias you can not see logic right in front of you. Bias toward the constitution is very desirable. Yours is against it it would seem.

warren, olathe

perfect example of the thinking of the left.

How do you rate a non quote?

warren, olathe

You could rewrite this quote to fit U.S. The constitution imposes limits on the government but should not disarm our natural distrust of government, nor should we allow an imbalance to occur between government and private affairs.

warren, olathe

Perfect example of the socialist mindset. Great instructive quote.

Sounds good but I doubt that he meant it like I would if I had said it. He was instrumental in screwing up the court. Much of the problems we have with today's court system started during his watch. I do not believe he is speaking of individual rights but of "group" rights. Lets face it if individual rights are protected there is no need for "group" rights.

Waffler, some of the best quotes come from those kinds of guys.

Waffler has a point. By the way the Boston tea party was not about taxes. It was a bout the English government subsidized tea being brought to our shores in an attempt to create a monopoly by putting the American tea companies out of business. It was later that it got the label of being a tax protest. Good quote regardless of how it came about.

You don't even know what a "bleeding heart" is. Sad.

warren, olathe

Waffler your facts are crap. Apples and oranges. If we consider the socialism aspect they probably are cheaper tax wise. Sweden has subsidized everything. It has to make it possible for the people to live after taxes. People there have to pay an average of 75% of their after tax income for food. Even then it would be unaffordable if it weren't subsidized by the government. In our country that kind of system would be even worse. Our government is so inefficient at redistribution of wealth that it would collapse much faster than the European model is. Statistics are capable of being used to prove anything to an ignorant mind.

You had a point until you started deciding who it was that did the trashing of the forest Waffler. There was a picture of the aftermath of Earth day celebration in New York a few years back. The picture showed a sea of empty trash cans surrounded by land that would be green if you could see through all the trash that your moral minority threw all over it. The same year there was the Dan’s bake sale in Fort Collins Colorado. No trash. No damage other than one flower pot kicked over by a policeman’s horse. The event was peaceful and enjoyable. Not like the nut case gatherings that the leftists congregate at. You will find that it is the conservative that promotes personal responsibility by living it. The liberal thinks that preaching is enough.

No one that can think can disagree with that quote.

warren, olathe

Great quote to see inside the convoluted mind of a committed socialist. Democracy is ok if you can use it to create more socialism. The left worshiped him. They think like him. If you can call that thinking.

He must have been aquainted with Roger Baldwin, the founder of ACLU. He said basicaly the same thing only he added screwing up the leagal system also.

Ever deal with a home owner association? The up side is you can move out of a community easier than out of the country. Other counties are typically worse any way. The government makes victims out of groups while a small group will single out individuals. A group has much more power to defend itself. As an individual all you can do is leave to escape the little fascists that only seek those miniscule positions to wield power.

The fall of the Soviets reduced the perceived communist threat. This only makes us that much more vulnerable.

warren, olathe

Pat has always thought that way Robert. Waffler your answer is tax everything.

warren, olathe

If you want to help someone the best thing you can do is get the government out of it. No matter how much money the government throws at a social program it will only make the situation worse that much faster. Government programs are not meant to help any one but the politicians that are buying votes with them. Best quote in a while. Hits the nail on the head.

warren, olathe

Waffler, what you think is originality is nothing but old worn out tried and failed ideas that should have died long ago. Our education system is the only thing keeping them alive.

And dead in some situations.

Bill Clinton got pretty far running on the slogan "character doesn't matter".

Don't believe you said any thing Kevin.
