Dunphy quote Mr. Dunphy, like most of the "Christians" of whom he speaks, misses the point -- what "Christianity" really is. This is typical of most so-called humanists. Unfortunately, it's also true of most so-called Christians. Even I am a humanist (even have some human blood coursing through my veins), but "humanism" must not be confused with religion. What Mr. Dunphy probably calls "nature," I think of an attribute of what Socrates (through Plato) called God. ("God is Truth, and Light His Shadow") What is Christianity? Really? It is manifest in what Jesus (and many other sages) taught. Compassion, forgiveness, love thy neighbor (even thine enemy!), and do unto others as you would be done by.
