(pssst: not just any old urge qualifies as a principle to be stood for. For most people, mankind is considerably more than basic biology--duh!!) 1Reply Terry Berg, Occidental, CA 5/16/06 Devout is not necessarily rabid, mindless, or impositional. 3 Reply E Archer, NYC 5/16/06 As well, Adams words suit Jews, Muslims, atheists, or anyone who must take a stand against the collective. 1 Reply Hannah, Somewhere, NV 2/9/07 Great quote, more people should follow your words of wisdom! :) 1 Reply A nobody, The boonies 5/7/07 If everyone did that, the world would be such a better place! Reply Anonymous 5/12/10 this is the best quote i've heard 1Reply Sailorswind, Cadillac 1/2/13 There will always be a battle in this world between truth and falsehood until people turn to the God of the Bible. 2 Reply cal, lewisville, tx 1/2/13 Rand Paul and only 6 other senators stood against the bill to avoid the cliff. We see how many senators stood upon principle. 2 Reply jim k, Austin, Tx 1/2/13 David, Hollywood, true and funny. E Archer, I agree with your comment. Sailorswind, interesting comment. I'm alwaya curious when someone wants to "turn to the Bible". Which part?? Maybe the part where "God" ordered the Israelites to kill everyone in a village including women and children. Maybe the part where you should have your children stoned if they disobey. Or perhaps the part where God got ticked off at the world He made and drowned everyone in a flood including innocent children, all except one family. Which part should we turn to? 2Reply dick, Fort Worth 1/2/13 Excellent comment, jim k. The Bible is as full of hate and ignorance as it is of love and kindness. It is a book written by men who knew nothing of science and very little of common sense. We do not add comments - they are added by visitors to the site. Just because you cannot remember your posts does not mean we have added them for you. You threatened to sue us before because you did not remember posting a comment (during the Bush administration) in which you gave five stars to a quote about political propaganda, but when that quote was sent out recently during the Obama administration somehow you disagreed with your previous response. Frankly it is you now that is casting aspersions upon us. So dear readers just know that there are many who comment on this site when it suits their own political leanings but do not like their own arguments used to defend causes they do not support. It is sort of a conditional argument - if there is a republican president then the press is lying, if there is a democrat president then the press is truthful. That being said, your posts here may remain on this site for decades - if you find that you have changed your mind, please do not blame us for the comments you have made in the past - you are responsible and accountable for what you say. Deal with it. 4 Reply Larry, Pequea 1/2/13 Just wondering, 56 Founding Fathers, men of integrity, brave men, gave their lives, fortuine and sacred honor so the posterity of this once great nation would continue to acquire freedom and prosperity. How many politions today would offer the same? I'm sure, most demopublicans or republocrats would show their coward character.
