Black quote Our fine president and his hack buddies in Washington don't care a fig about the Constitution. They simply ignore it and continue their work of turning this country into a third world socialist sink hole. Reply jim k, Austin, Tx 8/17/11 re: Alexander Hamilton quote Madoff is in jail for life for running a Ponzi scheme and a man in Florida is facing a 20 year sentence for bilking some folk out of 900 million in another similar scheme. Members of Congress live the good life and retire rich for doing worse than these two. Roger clemens was tried in court for lying to Congress while this fine group lies daily to the American people, and naturally, they are usually re- elected. We have not heeded this and look at the messes we are in. Reply jim k, Austin, Tx 8/16/11 re: Isaac Asimov quote anon, anon, with deference to your sentence structure I agree with you, and Mike, right on as usual. My main "hope" is lots of "change" in the next election when we must throw out the lunatics and communists running this country 75Reply jim k, Austin, Tx 8/12/11 re: Robert Bruce quote Pelosi, Reid, and the rest of the Obama gang are doig everything possible to make freedom a thing of the past in the USA. And the gutless Republicrats are going along with them. Vote Libertarian. 2 Reply jim k, Austin, Tx 8/12/11 re: Justice Hugo L. Black quote In other words, the first ten amendents were designed to protect citizens from their own government. 1 Reply jim k, Austin, Tx 8/12/11 re: John Adams quote Tell that to the nanny state people in Washington who are ruining this once great country. 2 Reply jim k, Austin, Tx 8/11/11 re: Edmund Burke quote Well said, J Carlton. 2 Reply jim k, Austin, Tx 8/11/11 re: American Jurisprudence (Second) quote We have thousands of "laws" and, unfortunatly, there are more on the way. It seems that the last vestige of Puritanism still pervades this country and requires that vices become crimes. The war on drugs is the perfect example, and because of this monstrosity, the prison business is thriving. Reply jim k, Austin, Tx 8/10/11 re: George S. Boutwell quote True, L Hanson, but centralized government was mentioned. Reply jim k, Austin, Tx 8/10/11 re: Spiro Agnew quote Hey Lugoff, lighten up. The trouble with you libs is you have no sense of humor. Reply jim k, Austin, Tx 8/10/11 re: George S. Boutwell quote Good old honest Abe wasn't one bit interested in freeing slaves, only in centralizing power in Washington. Reply jim k, Austin, Tx 8/9/11 re: Cal Thomas quote Waffler, you are truly nuts. It's not "self esteem" that black folks need, it's jobs. You get self esteem by doing the right things, not because some nit wit socialist was elected president. 31Reply jim k, Austin, Tx 8/9/11 re: Phelps Adams quote Thank goodness we have J Carlton on this site to balance out idiotic comments from Canadians like L. Hanson. 41Reply jim k, Austin, Tx 8/9/11 re: Phelps Adams quote This sounds a lot like the liberals in our government, always wanting to solve the debt problem by "soaking the rich". Question: If you need a job, would you go to the nearest poor person or maybe to someone with some money ? Here in Austin we have Michael Dell of Dell Computers, a very rich man. He has provided good products and jobs for thousands of people. Raising taxes on "the rich" will not solve any part of the debt we have but will, as always happens with government, make matters worse 6 Reply jim k, Austin, Tx 8/9/11 re: J. Tucker Alford quote When things go wrong , it's always good to blame society. It seems that a large number of people in this country refuse to own their mistakes and always blame someone else for their misfortunes. The wonderful people in our Congress are especially good at blaming others. Obama has made it an art form, nothing is ever his fault. Reply jim k, Austin, Tx 8/9/11 re: Cal Thomas quote Daniel of Newport, There are currently over 40 million people in this country on food stamps. If this isn't welfare, what would you call it ? Your comment on rich people is ridiculous beyond words. Reply jim k, Austin, Tx 8/8/11 re: Emma Goldman quote I'm with Henry on this quote. Reply jim k, Austin, Tx 8/8/11 re: David Dudley Field, II quote Judges appointed by the president are there for life. This needs to be changed. I suggest that their appointment be for someyhing like 5 years and after that they must be subject to an election of the people, otherwise you get idiots like Kagen. 2 Reply jim k, Austin, Tx 8/8/11 re: Charles T. Sprading quote When laws are of themselves bad, such as laws spawned by the so-called war on drugs, that's when jury nullification needs to be used. No judge will ever tell a jury of this option. Reply jim k, Austin, Tx 8/5/11 re: William Comer quote How true and the problem is that we continually reelect the same thugs doing the stealing. Reid, Pelosi, and the gang are really no better than any burgler residing in your county jail. This goes for most of Republicans as well. 1 Reply jim k, Austin, Tx 8/4/11 re: Marcus Tullius Cicero quote Public men rob citizens of their property on a daily basis from the wonderful people in D.C. all the way down to local governments. Imminent domain is one of the most popular methods being used today. Restrictive licensing laws are another method to prevent people from doing business. The best group fighting this sort of thing today is The Institute for Justice. They don't just write papers and articles, they do something about these injustices. Reply jim k, Austin, Tx 8/4/11 re: Jonathan H. Adler quote Here's a good one, If the cops find one hemp plant anywhere on your property they can and will take your property. Hemp was so useful in many products that some of the original States required that citizens grow a certain amount. Now you go to jail for growing it or even having a leaf or seed in your possession, plus having your property confiscated. Nixon instituted this war on drugs in 1970 and now our jails are full of non-violent offenders. His war on drugs is 100 times worse than anything he did at Watergate. Reply jim k, Austin, Tx 8/3/11 re: Charles T. Sprading quote Waffler, you are truly nuts. Our government pays absolutely no attention whatsoever to the people. The majority wanted nothing to do with B.O's "health" plan but we got it shoved down our throats anyway. Waff, the local reds must love you. Reply jim k, Austin, Tx 8/3/11 re: Charles T. Sprading quote Tricky Dick Nixon appealed to the "Law- Abiding Sentiment of the People" and gave us this horrible war on drugs in 1970. It's still going strong and worse than ever. I could go on, but just go to LEAP.cc on the web and see what cops , former police chiefs, judges, etc think about this mistake. Previous 25 Next 25 SaveOk2 Share on Facebook Tweet Email Print
