This is not the correct quote. It does a disservice to a great American.

Goldwater may have said those words at one time, but in his 1964 presidentiao acceptance speech he said, "I would remind you that extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice. And let me remind you also that moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue."

Dear Editor, It's not "Questionable".... just correct the quote as posted. This statement is from from BG's 1964 acceptance speech. "Extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice! And let me remind you also that moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue."

Both quotes are accurate from two different speeches.

This version is actually even more timely.

The extremist loses their influence in trying kill everyone or simply trying to imprison everyone. 1 + 1 = 2, and if you want to deny or simply debate this proposition I'm sorry I must  move on. So long.
