Bruce Lee Quote

“A teacher is never a giver of truth -- he is a guide, a pointer to the truth that each student must find for himself. A good teacher is merely a catalyst.”

This is a true universal truth, bridging religious gapes. Martial discipline brings oneself to know your limitations and values. Harnessed for the good of all. Even within the Kingdom of Christ, the teacher called, is but a guide in the night that points to the light, of the truth. But must be found by the student. But as a teacher one must be also a weaver of truth. So the pattern is reveled. Combining the forces of positive and negative is a song to be sung. Bridle the tongue bridle the body. The power of life and death is in the tongue. Semper Fi.

Ron13 do you ever write anything in plain English ?? This is a rhetorical question.

Ronw13, Yachats Or

Sometimes Jim I do. But many older folks have not heard or had the experience to understand Mr. Lee's point of view. Many years of practice bear this rule out. Still today it is a long walk, and many a scraped knee. The spiritual is a mirror of the physical. So the teaching goes hand in hand.
Sorry Jim, but if peace were so easy to obtain in a community all would have it. Mr. Lee was killed for sharing truth and discipline.

Yes, I think so. Having home-schooled my children, I observed long ago that the student does the learning, not that the teacher is 'teaching.' Learning is nothing more than remembering a LONG list of mistakes to not repeat. So, a good education is one that challenges the person in an environment that is safe for making mistakes -- the point being that avoiding these mistakes in 'the real world' will be easier after 'learning' how to avoid them. Mastery comes from its repetition.

I guess what I wanted to emphasize is that we must be 'free' to make mistakes. A plethora of laws to replace one's own reasoning only results in dumb people who have yet to learn the most important lessons in life.

Bruce Lee doesn't get nearly enough credit for being a great philosopher, too!

Well said !

This Ladies and Gentle Men with respect, is termed. Ancient Wisdom. Mr. Bruce Lee applies natural law in its simplicity. He is a true teacher, making the week strong. This science of spirit and body, encompassing, in my life, judo, karate, bushido, hatha yoga, along with a life under Christian influence. Ten thousand steps can be narrowed to thirteen. Concerning liberty and freedom under our Constitution. Say no more. Life is good and only gets better. Let the awakening come. Eyes are watching and ears are listening ! Hat and love of money gender tyrannical socialism. True love and respect of your neighbor strengthens the week and oppressed.

The sublime character of true education is revealed in the etymology of the word education:

From the Latin e ducere:

To draw(forth), lead

Educate to liberate, indoctrinate to subjugate.

"Educate to liberate, indoctrinate to subjugate."  That's a keeper!

Sounds Galilean in that we find the vast part of our knowledge in our connection with ourselves with self and societal awareness.
