Buckminster Fuller Quote

“To expose a 4.2 Trillion dollar ripoff of the American people by the stockholders of the 1000 largest corporations over the last one-hundred years will be a tall order of business.”

I think he missed the bulls-eye. The largest corporations have become what they are due to the banking system that they have grown up around. But the people have been ripped off, that is undeniable.

Waffler, Smith, Arkansas

He is really on to something. We have to be idiots not to know that the rich get their money from the poor. People who complain about the poor, the social security receipients, welfare people, fail to realize that every penny they get goes into buying food, toilet paper etcetera which boosts the coffers of the manuafactures and the rich who own the Company Stock. Where would the rich be without us.

Waffler, Smith, Arkansas

PS: I bought a prescription in Mexico the other day for $28. In ths US I pay $62. If that does not demonstrate American greed I don't know what does.

It's easy to blame the big-bad corporations for life woes, just as it's easy to blame the big-bad government for life's woes as well. Politics, business, and banking all play an equal part. These entities couldn't get away with what they have unless there was a close and unseen relationship between them. People like to blame Wal-Mart for killing the little guy, but they fail to see many of the reasons Wal-Mart has become so powerful. The government has given Wal-Mart subsidies for many of its products and property tax exemption for the land they're built on. There are inherent problems to a "free-market," but the problems we're seeing nowadays is not a result of a free-market.

Waffler, a good portion of that extra $34 goes to pay for the research and development of the next drug you're going to need. It's too bad Mexico, or Canada for that matter, are not paying their fair share.

J Carlton, Calgary

Oh I think Canada pays its "fair share" (what a socialist thing to say) we pay nearly double the taxes as the US and its all supposed to pay for this stuff. But it doesn't, it gets Pi**ed down a toilet.

warren, olathe

If it weren’t for investors there wouldn't be any generation of wealth. With out that there would be nothing for the horrible, evil corporations to rip off. As a matter of fact there would be no evil corporations to create any wealth to be ripped off either.

warren, olathe

Waffler why don't we just get rid of all the rich people that we so rely on for our jobs. We wouldn't be abused by the pay checks or other benefits we get from them. Take all the wealth from them just to make it fair. We can all then be poor and wishing for welfare with no one to give us a hand out because the wealth is gone.

sam, orofino

Warren, Are you so lacking in creativity, knowledge and ambition that you would fall dead rotting on the streets without a master to control you?

E Archer, NYC

Sam, warren was being facetious. You are speaking about Waffler.

J Carlton, Calgary

End the Fed and end lobbying and you would be off to a good start.

Mike, Norwalk

Indeed, hmmm

US debt clock display: 31 trillion, 795 billion and many millions on May 20, 2023.  We need to raise productivity, not prices. Quality is the key ingredient. A better effective product line is needed. Don't present a bunch of needless trash. Create life sustaining instrumentation.
