Anthony Sutton Quote

“[T]he power system continues only as long as individuals try to get something for nothing. The day when a majority of individuals declares or acts as if it wants nothing from the government, declares that it will look after its own welfare and interests, then on that day the power elites are doomed.”

Yes, We can not to afford to trust those who do not have our best interests at heart and only their own!

Byron, Fort Collins, CO

Another terrific quotation, which applies, really, to all control freaks, from terrible parents to terrible acquaintances to terrible "partners" to terrible managers to terrible politicians. The moment you take total responsibility for yourself is the moment you win, even if you die in the process. There are few feelings more satisfactory than cutting off a control freak. Don't let 'em domesticate you.

J Allen, Arlington, Va

The belief that you are entitled to the wages of others is the most immoral of beliefs, a belief encouraged by those power elites.

Mike, Norwalk

I don't know that they would be doomed but, it would be a great start. Byron, well said.

jim k, Austin, Tx

Taking resposibility for yourself, what a novel idea. Think of the bureaucrats that would have to get honest jobs if we all did this.

Waffler, Smith

A new or modified power system occurs each and every election. "When in the course of human events" etcetera and down thru history people have adjsted the so called "power system" to fit their needs. Why should we stop now. That is democracy! Byron and Jim are right about the empowerment coming from taking control of self and this includes being awake to public issues and voting. Self empowerment also must include that each are allowed the same empowerment and thus the majority of empowered people in a democracy have a right to win the election. Thus there will neer be a control freak left standing.

J Carlton, Calgary

Until we wrest control of our money supply from the Rothschilds et al: Our Democracy is, and will continue to be a complete and utter joke.

krista, palm springs

And my republican friends take the most from our system, and by the freebies they recieve they are more like the liberals they profess to hate, than the conservatives they pretend to be. Although to be fair, it is the Mexicans and everyone else they think should go without........and to think the Mexicans used to own California (many of my repub friends don't know that little FACT either (which explains a lot) or have chosen to froget it. Ron Paul named them aptly....neocons (not conservative)

Krista, Palm Springs

No, our system does NOT modify power when the party changes........the dems and the repubs are ONE and the same, simply 2 factions of the SAME party.....they serve NOT the people who "elected" (hahahaha ~ big joke there) them, but instead, they serve their corporate masters! READ How The World REALLY Works, by Allan B Jones Filled with FACTS and not opinions, not for those with their head deep in the sand box, or those who REFUSE to WAKE THE FUC! UP!!

Waffler, Smith

Krista think for a moment think was there not a large divide or difference between Republican and Democrats in Congress and the White House on this Health Care thing for example. How can you say they are all the same?

E Archer, NYC

Krista is right Waffler, simply because the game (system) is rigged by the ones that hold the purse strings -- not Congress, the President, the States, or the People, but the banking monopoly known as the Federal Reserve. Nearly all on both sides of the aisle further buying votes with IOUs to the Fed who gives them money in return to indenture the People further and load us up with more and more debt. They are enablers of the enslaving of the people. Somehow the party of the poor, the Democrats, are even more 'rich' than the Republicans are -- these parties are designed to do one thing, divide and conquer us while the Wizard of Oz owns the world -- yes, some will live in luxury in the Emerald Palace, but most will live under the weight of the urban megapolis.

E Archer, NYC

The day when a majority of individuals declares or acts as if it wants nothing from the government, declares that it will look after its own welfare and interests, then on that day the power elites will wage all out war!  When in history have a people been permitted to accede from their rulers?  The history of humankind is that of liberation from slavery in all its forms.  It is the nature of this world.  We are at war now  don't you know?!

"But how is this legal plunder to be identified? Quite simply. See if the law takes from some persons what belongs to them, and gives it to other persons to whom it does not belong. See if the law benefits one citizen at the expense of another by doing what the citizen himself cannot do without committing a crime."
-- Frederic Bastiat

I will not attempt to prove that Congress has no power to appropriate this money as an act of charity. Every member upon this floor knows it. Robert Edwards, somewhere in the USA

No, No, No, the power system will continue as long as individual's remain apathetic, selfish, and self centered.
The day when a majority of individuals declares an act of defiance against this imperial nation then the elites will become doomed. All America seems good at is killing people abroad for their resources and political control  this MUST come to an end. War with Iran will be our last war as America may well get it's just dessert's.
