The ability to learn from other's experiences, rather from only that which one has witnessed himself, is an important characteristic of a professional .

There are some that only learn the hard way, which is personal experience.

Perfect example of this is socialism. Society after society has witnessed the failure of this economic and social system only to repeat its error by believing for some reason that they actually have the ability to do it right this time. “We are the ones we have been waiting for.” Sound familiar?

I'm not sure how to rate this. This is a spin on those who don't learn from history are doomed to relive it. I think the intent here is by example: people choose the slavery experience of socialism (communism, fascism, progressivism) democracy, etc., even though human experience has shown it to be anti - freedom, liberty, individual rights, natural law and justice. Such choice is often based on intellectual and educational distortions, dishonesty, lies, and Stockholm Syndrome type abuse. So, I would give it 5 stars for contemporary experiences such as driving after drinking. Maybe 3 or 4 stars for the freedom issue. And so on. . .
