Unless you belong to the current administration and believe that peace always comes at the point of a gun. I reject the notion of peace that says, "I have a bigger gun than you, so shut up and be quiet". The Bush Doctrine has almost completely destroyed any international good-will... I'd be very interested to see how many war criminal charges can be brought against him once he leaves office; there are already several counties in the United States, that I have heard, who have warrants out for his arrest should he ever go through their county.

Any chance for extradiction or does he have to physically enter the county? It is true charges will be filed after he leaves office but as one president does for the next I'm sure king Obama will grant GB a full presidential pardon. Kind of like God forgiving sins I think.

I supported Bush in both his war efforts. I guess naively in the Iraq deal. Saddam's thumbing his nose at the UN I felt was the main cause, but yes maybe more sanctions and patience would have been more apporpriate. Since W had authority from world bodies and needed no authority in reference to Afghanistan I don't think he is subject to war crimes trials now. That the Iraqi fiasco was conducted badly I don't disagree but that the original intent was of evil or criminal intent I do disagree. It is a rare day that I am able to counter attacks on W.

Since congress voted funds for the war, are you planning to try it for war crimes? The idea that Bush will be tried for war crimes is preposterous. Obama will have no need to give Bush a pardon as he will never be charged with anything.

And thus perhaps "war is the climate of servitude." Nothing will happen to W -- he is the 'golden boy', and Obama is the 'messiah' and the next guy will be some other 'savior' as that is what America is into now. Pseudo-religious iconographic pop culture gone wild. ;-)

Most of the charges against Dubya have little to do with Iraq (at least any charges that would stick), and a lot to do with Gitmo and other clandestine holding facilities. It has a lot to do with the Administrations tactics in obtaining information from detainees; actions that mirrored much of what Milosevic did to the Bosnian and Kosovar Muslims.
