I, just like the nation have had periods in which I drank too much and ate too much. Put on weight and had a beer belly. I would go on my own prohibition. That is personal responsibility. I do believe that there are laws world wide however regulating or controlling these things so there must be a reason for them. It is not that America and/or its various governments (local, state, federal) are just plain evil controllers of human freedom and passions.

A tad weak an argument, all laws on a crime is a crime on a weakness, such as a weakness for murder, revenge and other hatreds (malice) and indifferences (neglect). The weak are bad or enabling them. As I have always said the "Weak [may] enslave themselves, the meak are enslaved by them." Right or wrong even if one is prohibitive to weakness of a vice, such a weakness may poorly effect others than themselves. To have opinions, to want privacy, to want to spend your money to your taste are not weaknesses, however all from pride to wrath are.

When you ask government to provide for you like a parent, expect to be treated like a child. Expect to have things prohibited. Expect to be told what to do, when and how to do it. Expect to be told what you can eat and drink and how much. If you don't do what you're told, expect to be grounded.

Natural law defines that which is. A criminal act is when one infringes on another’s rights or harms the being or property of an innocent party. The offence is actual. There are no mind crimes - only when the thought is acted out is there a crime. At natural law, justice and morality, there are no victimless crimes. Law enforcement is an oxymoron (can one enforce gravity, physics, physical law, etc. NO!, only tyranny can be enforced). Natural law does not prohibit. Tyranny is written to control weaklings and derelicts “accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed.”

Justice, most simply consists in letting every one enjoy the inalienable rights endowed by their Creator. Further, justice is the constant and perpetual disposition to render every man his due which he has acquired by virtue of natural law (the breaking or expressing thereof, an individual can do anything as long as it does not infringe on another - your rights end at my nose). Most anciently, justice was a restoration or making equal (enforced through perceived punishment or blessing; eye for an eye / pain for pain - joy, in and of itself for charity; justice is inherent in the beings very makeup) At Greek jurisprudence, justice included re-education.

Um, . . . it actually does in some cases. Take the case of humans flying unassisted by other means or the case of humans or most other terrestrial creatures walking on the bottom of the seas unassisted by other means or curing cancer by wishful thinking. The list is endless.

If other terrestrial creatures walk on the bottom of the seas, it is by a natural law man has not discovered, identified or named yet. Curing cancer by wishful thinking would be by a related natural law not yet understood by carnal man, I don't know if you've been around long enough to have read the events surrounding my sister; she was in a car accident, consequently was in a coma for months, had her head shaved, skull was fractured and the fracture was widening - oozing liquid. She received a blessing and woke during the blessing. The doctors were called immediately and by the time they (he) got there, my sister's hair was entirely restored and there was no sign of a fracture. Carnal man hasn't identified the law that cured my sister but I have a sure knowledge by who and from where that law was endowed. By definition, law is the explanation of matter's (unorganized, organized, dark, conscious, dimensional, etc.) actions. One of man's only prohibitions is his ignorance of applied natural law (allowance of legal positivism's tyranny is an example thereof).
