Friedrich August von Hayek Quote

“Many who think themselves infinitely superior to the aberrations of Nazism, and sincerely hate all manifestations, work at the same time for ideals whose realization would lead straight to the abhorred tyranny.”

Welcome to Amerika ! ! ! First they came for the laborer's fruits, then they came for individual's rights, now even Maddow is calling foul on Mr. Obamunist Goodwrench the assassin's concentration camps.

Once again the US and A taking on the attributes of those they once opposed. It just makes one think that The Dead Kennedy's were right about America: Give Me Convenience, or Give me Death. You guys will latch on to anything that will make you money; e.g. Prescott Bush and the IBM startup. Oh, yeah. This one should be on the front page of NYTIMES, LA TIMES - every day.

Hanson...what is the US "AND" A? And the use of the term "you guys" is a little broad don't you think? Are you suggesting that every single American has advocated all the evils perpetrated by a few people who have abused their position? Kind of like saying "all" Canadians do is play Hockey and live in Igloo's, "eh"? Maybe try using some discretion and not deal in stereotypes.

The direction taken by the United States Inc. and its satellites, the CFR, the Federal Reserve, the IRS, the CIA, the Dept. of Education, the FDA....and on and on...is one of communist control. And we have so many rules and regulations that "everything is illegal" and "everyone is guilty" of something at all times. 5 stars for truth.

von Hayek understands human nature, unlike our greedy, narcissistic, celebrity-wannabe Congressturds.

Tim, Gainesville,

We have men today who remember with pride the American leadership at the Nuremburg Trials that convicted Nazi mass murderers and laid the basis for new and vital principles of international law, but who vehemently denounce critics of US allies who use tactics very similar to those of the Nazis in oppressing victims of oppression who dare lift their heads to call our attention. In that sense, von Hayek could be seen as prescient. But, alas, that is not what he meant. He was denouncing the establishment of limits on a man's freedom to squeese the life out of his fellow citizens after eating their seed corn.

That is socialism for you. It looks great on paper, but in order to force it upon the people, it is not long that we duplicate the worst of the Nazi philosophy. It is the intent to turn government into a religion, and the leaders into gods.

Great quote. Its as if he had been talking about Obama and his cohorts. They point fingers and make unfounded accusations but are the guilty ones. I think that the few that have been the driving force behind the progressive movement have always known exactly where it is heading and fully approve of it. As a matter of fact the progressive movement in this country supported Adolph in the early years. Like his attitude about helping evolution out a little by eliminating undesirable "inferior" parts of society. Planned parenthood was inspired by that line of thinking.
