    Right on, Galileo!

The Pope placed him under house arrest for life because he invented the telescope . He was also forbidden to go to heaven .

Galileo would be sorely disappointed to know how all too many of God's people have omitted any attempt to use "sense, reason and intellect."

What's funny Mary is that a Pope in 1972 released him from Purgatory so he can go on to heaven. I'm sure he is glad to know this 330 years after his death.

Got to smile great big here. I'm with Galileo on this one. cal, what do you think, if I stay away from telescopes, do you think the Pope will let me go to heaven directly?

I'll let you know Mike when I ever figure all this out . Hahaha

ahhh yes, obligation. The new church in town, the occupying statist theocracy infesting this land, mandates WITHOUT real sense, reason or intellect that the macabre's death cult, censorship, tyrannical compelled compliance, government licensing, victimless crimes, larceny with impunity, alienation of inalienable rights and liberty as well as the complete body of carnal gods' canons of chaos be believed and followed as though it was all law, truth and the American way.  hmmmm, where are today's Galileos?

Sounds like Galileo was describing modern liberalism. With the help of some so-called Republicans that in spite of our founders warnings have turned our Republic into a democracy complete with mob rule!

"Democracy, will soon degenerate into an Anarchy, such an Anarchy that every Man will do what is right in his own Eyes, and no Mans life or Property or Reputation or Liberty will be secure and every one of these will soon mould itself into a system of subordination of all the moral Virtues, and Intellectual Abilities, all the Powers of Wealth, Beauty, Wit, and Science, to the wanton Pleasures, the capricious Will, and the execrable Cruelty of one or a very few.…"
