John Adams Quote

“Objects of the most stupendous magnitude, and measure in which the lives and liberties of millions yet unborn are intimately interested, are now before us. We are in the very midst of a revolution the most complete, unexpected and remarkable of any in the history of nations.”

~ John Adams

letter to William Cushing, June 9, 1776

The irreproachable insight of the illustrious Founder, John Adams, one of the foremost architects of the greatest temporal engine of human progress that the planet has ever known.

The year 1776 was, indeed, an annus mirabilis.

I see your response format has changed. Interesting; but it feels one is a bit blind without other responses exposed for influence. They are indexed; but not displayed.

The Adams' quote directly above one from King George is a thought provoking comparison. As is that from Madison; but not quite the same extreme. A very nice selection.
The bases of any revolution are not coincident. It motivations are not its rhetoric.(Cum "espoused principles".) By in large, we must profess a necessity for violence, which is the handmaid of any revolution. Tough maid! As with Che or Tolstoy a revolution is constant. It has its own inertia and is usually a victim of the violence it engenders. In that sense the American Revolution is still in progress as it is a condition of realization, not rebellion. King George should have looked to his own Knavery before considering the inevitable development of America's Navy. By principle, a P. T. Barnum should never be president. A Barnum's knavery (flim flam) is taken for granted, wherein people know they are being taken, and, thus (for whatever reasons) enjoy it. Politics is barnumesque; but government must not be.

Hi, John: The new format is displaying all previous responses.  A few of the latest quotes had not been posted before, so your comment was among the first.  We are trying out a new feature in the links to Comments box.  Clicking a link to a recent comment opens the page and scrolls down to the comment.  Scrolling up then shows previous comments and the quote itself.  We are open to further suggestions or comments.  Thank you!

John, said well. Objects of the most stupendous magnitude, and measure in which the lives and liberties of millions yet unborn are intimately interested have been lost to a national establishment of religion that approves of human sacrifice, religious sacrament mandates (such as marriage) and forced charity; AND, replaced by compelled compliance, victimless crime enforcement, government licenses, larceny with impunity (2nd plank of the communist manifesto, Social Security, police state confiscations, etc.) and NON-recognition of perfected allodium or inalienable rights endowed by nature’s God.

Brilliant! Here's the thing, ultimately, the rest of the civilized world must come to the same conclusions and embrace Liberty above 'authority.'  America is supposed to export the concepts of Liberty, not import the concepts of totalitarianism.

Again, well said John. government business should not be in show business. Threskeia practice, bread and circus among knaves of dependency, is climaxing, seeing only half go to the circus. As for the bread, some don't care if they're dirty when they eat.
That "Tough Maid" will require a clean house, hopefully, not to much dust, knowing spoil children are prone to violent fits. The measure with which the Great Awakening would take place, is a Marked point in time. Saad Al Melik, Saad Al Sund, was not said of a book, as some assumed.
