Kort E. Patterson Quote

“Some informants spied on their neighbors because they actually believed the propaganda… Some denounced their enemies in order to settle personal grudges. Some were driven by their own fears to attempt to deflect attention away from themselves…Some were motivated by the sense of power turning in their neighbors gave them.”

~ Kort E. Patterson

I believe all of this is covered in the Patriot Act isn't it? Homeland Security? Turn in those suspicious looking activities for the good of the country and since it's the prosperous USA we'll even pay you for the information.

Chilling. Let Freedom Reign! Small government is the best government.

Waffler, Smith

Some times this type of behavior is necessary. Like reporting crime and illegal immiragration or yeah remember the Committes of Correspondence and Paul Revere's Ride. Let us not think that we are above being more than just stupid bystanders as the world spins out of control around us Freedom on occasion does require thoughtful people to act and some times cooperatively. May we always have the wisdom to know the right times to act versus the times to confront the urge to act.

J Carlton, Calgary

I can't tell if this describes Stalinist Russia, National Socialist Germany or America circa 2012. Waff, why bother reporting illegal immigrants? After all what they really need is directions to all the free stuff. Medicare, schooling, housing, social security....Another contradiction in the system. Checkpoints on hiways to invade your privacy to find people who are supposedly illegal? How Kafkaesque...

I'm not surprised that Waffler chimed in on this one defending his right to inform on others who won't follow the unlawful regulations he has surrendered himself to -- typical from a tax collector ... He has also said that he would report anyone that said they would use their guns to defend themselves from unlawful police actions. This is what a police state hopes for -- and it was perfected by the Nazis who had children turn in their parents!

I'm going to report you all to the Obamunists at flag@whitehouse.gov. Wait, that one doesn't work anymore. I'll use the other email address that was given to us "loyal" citizens.

Patrick Henry, Red Hill

The power of oppressors is rooted in the fear that they endeavor to instill in those whom they intend to terrorize.

Oppression is a concomitant of fear, unfailingly.

I'm not quite sure why everyone gave this such high marks (maybe for accuracy)? I'm with Carlton - this describes Stalinist Russia, Nazi Germany and today's Amerika. What ever happened to the sons and daughters of liberty's land of liberty? -poof, gone.

E Archer, NYC

Mike, the sons and daughters of liberty are not gone, just ignored. But the cat is out of the bag, and there is no getting it back in. It is just a matter of time now; people in other countries are tired of authoritarianism -- whether from the church of old or the governments of today. The double-speak of socialism is imploding on itself -- California wants sovereignty now! (They already have it, they just want money from the rest of the USA, too.) ;-) Self-rule, of the individual and thusly through his associations, is still a strong impetus in humankind -- it has not been bred out of us yet. And remember what truly rules this world -- and what can never overtake it. The Liberty Movement continues!

I truly hate this fascist mask-wearing, BS.  It's got us all treating everyone like they have the plague.  Break up the society by mandating 'social distancing.'  Close down local businesses to keep people safe.  Signs on the street saying to stay home.  People lashing out at each other for 'breaking the rules.'  My local community has been crushed.  This is a concerted effort to strengthen the grip of power by 'authorities,' particularly those in the pharmaceutical businesses selling drugs to every country in the world, some of which will force these untested and expensive treatments on every citizen by law  perhaps even annually!  Globalism at its worst.

Imagine if the same effort were put into informing people and helping them build up their immune systems?  Sickness is big business, and a healthy nation is bad for business.  Plus doctors and politicians love playing God.

AND the PCR tests for Covid-19 are not quantitative  they cannot tell the amount detected or whether the positive is due to other RNA strains which include the common cold, flu, measles.  Follow up testing of college athletes revealed almost 90% false positive, and is likely the reason for the spike in 'cases' with increased testing.  All these false statistics are broadcast to justify a perpetual state of emergency and unconstitutional power grabs.  It's time for some tar and feathering!
