It seems to me that we can never be "slaves" as long as we have freedom of thought. If you think about it,everyone chooses how or if they respond to any given interaction or situation.True Freedom always has/always will lie within.

Amber McMillan, London

No but some people havent got a choice such as in the past slaves didnt have freedom. I think freedom means to do what you wish when ever you please

"Free" is a noun, describing the being (to be free). While no "thing" can be described - in and of itself, it is the attribute(s) that describe the "thing". Gold for instance, what is it? Well, its attributes are described by color, electrical abilities, type of metal, etc. To "be" free is described by attributes as witnessed by the conjugated term freedom. To be "free", is a statement of inalienable status. While "liberty" is an understanding that one may do anything as long as another's being or action is not infringed, freedom remains in the domain of a being's attribute (a subtle difference yet distinct). As to not being a slave - just another attribute of the "being", free. Freedom, non-slavery and non-restraint to any chance become synonyms (or at least different attributes explaining an individual sovereign) in describing the "free", being.

The question "What is Freedom?" depends on how I answer the other question "Who do I think I am?"

What is "Freedom" ? Chuphshah, simply liberty from slavery. There again what is Politeia freedom, citizenship with the right to appeal, exempt from all degrading punishment.
!6 times in ancient text the word Chophshiy is translated " Free", one time used as Liberty, on all accounts, the meaning is clear, to exempt, from bondage, tax, or care. at your pleasure.
Eleutheroo, to make free, to liberate, to exempt from mortal liability, to deliver.
On another note, Freedom is Independence, with the ability to contract openly, exercising chophshiy liberty without fear. But without fail, chophshiy liberty/freedom is the most oppressed. for it is not spiritual riches, but physical riches the State or Individual tyrant seeks to Plunder. If our founding belief system promotes such liberty, and it does, it is no wonder that that said belief system would suffer attack as well. Red Pill indeed, the cat is kicked out of the room, that lincoln let in.

In a broader scope, Freedom as an action verb, is the Right to Defend your Economic Chophshiy Liberty. Period. There are basically two schools of religious thought and practise. In an effort to liberate from bondage and tax, the children of our nation, our founding fathers put forth a Declaration to all the world, that we are Independent from the worlds practice of forced economic oppression through tyrannical exaction. That oppression being guided by Angra Mainyu, god of the storm, prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now works in the children of disobedience.
If and we are to render unto God the things that are his, His children, whom he sets At Liberty are rendered to God Without oppression. Original Constitutional intent !

Felipe, So Paulo
