The Founders knew this. That's why they gave us a Constitutionally limited government. Which is what we need to get back to.

With power comes responsibility, with great power comes great responsibility. However, power can corrupt, and great power can really corrupt. That is why political power was designed to be distributed in America to the people individually for their own wants and needs, county for local concerns, state for broader public concerns, and federal for interstate and international concerns. Instead what we see is federal power concerned with regulating the individual, the county, the states, and even other nations. The people are awakening, but when will they act? What can we do?

Wouldn't moral force be the ultimate social force?  Would that not be innocent?

NO ! ! ! Force by any measurement is despotism. Social force is slavery. "moral force" is an oxymoron. Enforcement of slavery is never innocent.
