Agree with Mike but add a better way to say it would be Individual Liberty shall be the supreme law of the land and the Judges in every State shall be bound by the Constitution that establishes Individual liberty as the law of the land. I don't know, it just seems the quote doesn't convey the original intent like it should and I must at least question it in lieu of evidence that interests were at work to influence the writing of the Constitution in their favor rather than in the favor of individual liberty.

The fact that the government established in 1787 by the adoption of the Constitution which explaind and set forth the self same governments basic operation and premise, separation of powers etcetera and so forth, still exists is the most powerful testament to the Constitutions abiding power and usefulness and the fact that it has served us well and still does. Generally those who attact it or the society which thrives and has thrived under it have some sordid axe to grind about this that or another favorite issue, issues that are usually very strange and esoteric indeed.

Well, the Constitution can only serve us inasmuch as we adhere to it. As of late, we have been doing our best to ignore it and hope it still means something. Never fear! The Constitution is the law of the land IN NAME ONLY! It poses practically no threat to our current form of government. The threat is the freedom which still burns in the hearts of those who uphold its principles.

Yes, Ben, liberty lives within each of us, or not at all -- no piece of paper can stand for us. The only question is whether the ruling class has conditioned the will to resist out of us. What ever happened to the right to be left alone and the responsibility to take care of oneself? It is apparently illegal to do so...
