I find it fascinating that speculative fiction seems to indicate that the primary outcome of arming all of the citizens and pitting them against the government is anarchy and the reemergence of city states ruled by ruthless thugs. Remember, these speculations come from people who study people and society... and current examples all over the world seem to support it.

By the arguments of this quote we should all own our own thermo nuclear and biological weapons, and by failing to do so we are all slaves... believe it or not, the most powerful weapon in the world is the human brain... proper use of it eliminates the need for individuals to own pop-guns ment for nothing more than killing other individuals.

Strict original intent interpreters should be allowed to have all of the hunting muskets they want... individuals did not own canons then, and today's' hand guns did not exist either. Those with a brain to understand that that which does not grow and change is dead will understand the wisdom of this quote. He has good observations right up to that last sentence... it is not called "isolationism", it is called "deficit spending", something that was most widely done by those operating under the misnomer of "fiscal conservatives" who seek to eliminate taxes on those most able to pay them while giving money away to those in the least need of grants, such as oil companies and the industrial military complex.

Little wonder that a man from Texas would fail to see that the slaves were denied there liberty and that is more important to correct than to protect the liberty of the slave holders to hold those slaves.
