It's what keeps us safe and free. Reply J Carlton, Calgary 12/11/09 re: Norton vs. Shelby County quote Well if that's true, I guess the folks in New Orleans had the right to shoot the Blackwater people trespassing and violating their property rights by stealing their guns, because that was a completely unconstitutional act perpetrated by a police state type of authority. Completely UN American. 1 Reply J Carlton, Calgary 12/11/09 re: Norris v. Baltimore quote How simple and straight forward. And yet some lawyer or judge can still manage to screw it right up. Reply J Carlton, Calgary 12/10/09 re: Aristotle quote And the ice is melting due to the natural cycles of the planet. No amount of taxation is going to stop it. However the "real" data showing that we are more likely heading for another ice age than a warming spell may slow down the ice melt. Global Warming is a man made crisis only in a political sense. Its a tool of fear mongering and globalism that ought to be rejected on all levels. On the up side, maybe the whole charade will trigger a long over due peaceful rebellion. Reply J Carlton, Calgary 12/10/09 re: Cockrum v. State quote Too bad some Germans didn't point their guns at the state back in 38...Oh yeah! that's right, the state had already taken their guns. The state gets only the respect that its actions merit. 3 Reply J Carlton, Calgary 12/10/09 re: Miller v. U.S. quote "The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed" Which part confuses them? How can it be a crime to defend yourself? Reply J Carlton, Calgary 12/10/09 re: Cockrum v. State quote Guns are the only means available to people to defend life, liberty and property. Any person or body politic that infringes on any of these rights is criminal in nature and may be repelled with force. It's the American way and its the foundation of any free nation. 2 Reply J Carlton, Calgary 12/10/09 re: Aristotle quote Men are equal only in respect to their inalienable rights. God / Nature will dictate how well they do in life, not democracy and not communism. Neither of those political theories are natural to anything living. Which is why we need an administration of professional and accountible managers...not political poll driven whores. A "Republic" of free people, not Globalist slave state government. Democracy didn't work then and it doesn't work now. 3 Reply J Carlton, Calgary 12/10/09 re: Amos v. Mosley quote Cal, let's keep in mind that the founder's had just fought a war to remove themselves from tyranny, the spirit of their intent can not be mistaken no matter what some puppet judge of the day tells you. 2 Reply J Carlton, Calgary 12/9/09 re: American Jurisprudence, 2nd Edition quote In my dreams...The 28th Amendment - Congress shall make no laws for the people that do not also apply to Congress. Congrees shall make no law for Congress that does not also apply to the people. 2 Reply J Carlton, Calgary 12/9/09 re: Amos v. Mosley quote Jim K, It became really apparent when Bush said, "THe Constitution is just a damn piece of paper" That's when I tore up my Republican card and stepped firmly into the Libertarian camp. I'd rather be in the same proud company as the Americans who threw the Brits (Imperialism) into the sea. 4 Reply J Carlton, Calgary 12/9/09 re: Frederic Bastiat quote Waffler, I would say that social progress is the result of efforts by people to achieve excellence in their personal and business lives. That approach can not help but improve the general condition of all. But Government intervention / bureaucracy is the antithesis to this concept, as it slows down real progress through a system of compliance and theft. 1 Reply J Carlton, Calgary 12/9/09 re: Aristotle quote This quote explains so many government policies that operate under the guise of progress its mind boggling. Divide and conquer has always been the rule of thumb. And now our so called leaders are in Copenhagen conspiring to tax us out of existence in the name of a trumped up and completely false religious dogma known as (the Church of) Global Warming. 4 Reply J Carlton, Calgary 12/9/09 re: Amos v. Mosley quote Let's see, Hamilton decided "Promote the general welfare" meant he should start a central bank that controlled the money supply. Of course he and his rich buddies immediately turned it into their own slush fund. Jackson shot it down. Wilson brought it back. And like an incurable venereal disease, its been with us ever since. 3 Reply J Carlton, Calgary 12/9/09 re: American Jurisprudence, 2nd Edition quote Start with refusing to give up your guns. (at least until they are hot and empty) because you will have no authority over your own life or property unless you can enforce it. The minute the populace is disarmed they are sheep for slaughter. Couldn't happen here? That's what they were saying in Germany in 38. 6 Reply J Carlton, Calgary 12/8/09 re: Thomas Jefferson quote Gee, He could have said this last week. 3 Reply J Carlton, Calgary 12/8/09 re: Frederic Bastiat quote Excellent quote as always from Bastiat. Social progress is only progress when it occurs naturally. When it is implemented by social engineers in the guise of government...its socialism. And socialism is a cancer. Reply J Carlton, Calgary 12/8/09 re: Billings v. Hall quote President Jackson stated that the judiciary and the house had only opinions and that those opinions had only such merit as was granted by the force of reason. I don't have that word for word...but that was the idea. Reply J Carlton, Calgary 12/7/09 re: Whitney Moore, Jr. quote Found it Mike. Interesting how many ways Gore is profiting from all this. Almost the way Cheney and Rummy are profiting from the blood of American's in the Middle East, and the Flying Pig Flu. Reply J Carlton, Calgary 12/7/09 re: Whitney Moore, Jr. quote Mike, can you provide a link to any info in a suit against Gore et al ? I'd love to give that some exposure. Reply J Carlton, Calgary 12/7/09 re: William Lloyd Garrison quote Great question. The answer is No! Reply J Carlton, Calgary 12/7/09 re: Whitney Moore, Jr. quote This describes Socialism to a tee. Reply J Carlton, Calgary 12/7/09 re: Samuel Gompers quote Freedom of Speech allows for all opinions, and was enshrined to ensure people could be heard when in opposition to government policies. ~ "Take away the right to say F**k and you take away the right to say F**k the Government" ~ Lenny Bruce. Reply J Carlton, Calgary 12/4/09 re: Ronald Firbank quote Actually Waffler, Bureacracy removes the aspect of accountibility and responsibility from those who run it. Tyranny in a nutshell. 1 Reply J Carlton, Calgary 12/4/09 re: Astrid Alauda quote While many people are interesting or knowlegable in their own way about various things...the majority seem completely oblivious to the regime under which they live. That would be because they have been properly processed to be "good" citizens who don't ask questions. And our whole system depends on us not asking questions.
