I live in the US almost 15 years. I immigrated from Russia, and I see that America moves to the left very fast (at least at North California) and I feel how dangerous it is. The phrase of Norman Thomas reflects exactly what is going on. A lot of people are very ignorant, and they fall in love with socialist terminology very quickly. Their ignorance, lack of history knowledge (even recent history) don't allow them to see or to predict next step. They live like there is no tomorrow. Russian community in the US is more conservative basically, but unfortunately even in our community some people are ready to do the same mistakes they already did. They "Americanized" very quickly and not in the best way.
