Napoleon loved to be writer. If he was not a such great military leader he would have pursued writing. Here is just the truth. I believe Napoleon was looking it through his experiences during the French revolution and his part in it. Although he was never active in the ideas of Revolution, because he despised 'the mob' and radicals treatment of the royalists he nevertheless admired the idea of Republicanism. Seeing the political leaders of his time, he has witnessed those that toppled down the monarchy in favor of "the people" are in a sense themselves only a little different.
