Bravo - The Unalienable Rights of the individual should always be sacrosanct over and above any collective "Mob Rule."

Mary - MI

Eisenhower should have said, "Constitutional Protections" .. because - the U.S. Constitution does not GIVE US our rights .. but, instead PROTECTS our rights.
Every person born throughout the world is born with Natural Unalienable Rights that cannot be liened away. It is only through despots, dictators and mob rule that those natural unalienable rights are abused, aborted and deleteriously violated.

Absolute truth reigns high in this wise quote.
Only those who despise the quote believe in government dependency. In upholding and defending government dependency they thus believe in being and becoming a leech on those who show personal initiative, self-reliance and ambition to further benefit their lives and those of others.
There is only one place that the government attains the money to fill its coffers to support the leeches ... and that is from the people who work, make a profit and thus pay taxes.
--- "But how is this legal plunder to be identified? Quite simply. See if the law takes from some persons what belongs to them, and gives it to other persons to whom it does not belong. See if the law benefits one citizen at the expense of another by doing what the citizen himself cannot do without committing a crime." -- Frederic Bastiat

What a well thought out, well rounded quote and statement.
There is nothing wrong with having wealth as long as you do not deprive others of the ability to garner wealth for themselves.
Something that seems to be completely lost and dismissed by the likes of Robert, Sarasota.
For ... if it is by the wealth worked for and garnered by those who display initiative and personal responsibility no matter how large or how small the wealth they have may havee attained there would be no wealth to share or to decide to voluntarily donate to help those in need.

Oh, how sad that the depth of Einstein's quote has been completely lost on Lynn, Houston, Thus, she falsely believes that he was referring to and insulting those serving in the military instead what he was actually referring to ... the sheep marching to the collective's ideology of the Group Think sirens.

Leave it to Reston to believe that he/she is of a much greater superior intellect than that of most eloquent, knowledgeable and truly wise George Washington. LOL!

Very astute words spoken by the great Samuel Clemens (Mark Twain).

Waffler truly lives in a fantasy land of believing that he is an intellectual instead of what Waffler truly is .. someone who truly lives in the Fog of the Unknown and as big an annoyance as a continuously buzzing UN-swatted mosquito.

Such a great, touching and wondrous statement by the very brave lover of liberty Patrick Henry.
Thank you helorat, Milton for your excellent counter statement to the very cynical and crepe hanging remarks of Robert, Sarasota.
There always sadly seems to be a rotten apple who attempts to spoil the well spoken and expressed quotes displayed on Liberty Quotes.
Let's all who honor and respect the brave souls who have gone before us and thank the heavens that these cynics and persistent pessimists who live in such dark shadows are hopefully not and never will be in close proximity to us all.

Gale Nelson - This nation was founded to protect the Natural Born Unalienable Rights of each and every individual and not the rights of authoritarian kings, monarchies or despotic leaders doling out or denying privileges in order to suit their or your despotic whim's, schemes and agenda's.
We all have natural free will and choices as long as we and you do not act to violate and harm other individuals and/or their property.
If someone chooses not to vote, participate in government and does not wish to have an interest in political candidates that is their natural "law abiding" right and "individual privilege" not be forced to do so. That is their FREEDOM not to do so. Just as it is the right of another and all individuals to choose to get involved in all the above without the use of force or "earning" a "privilege" from some government despotic personage.

Love it, love it, love it. Beautiful, wise and clear statements by Lyn Nofziger!

Many people do not realize that each and every individual and those yet to be born in the U.S. are the collateral for all the unsustainable debt created by using the un-backed and corrupt Fiat monetary system.
That is why our sensible, wise and historically wise founders placed Article 1, Section 8, Clause 5 into the U.S. Constitution that stated the money should be "Coined."

It is an old adage so eloquently displayed by the great historical sage of liberty Frederic Bastiat .. that can be followed with,
"Your rights end where mine begins."
If you truly want your liberties preserved then you cannot use force to take away another individuals lawful liberties.

Wouldn't it surely be a most welcomed novelty if all of or elected and appointed representatives totally confined themselves to the enumerated powers and limitations clearly spelled out for them in the U.S. Constitution!

Mike - I second your statement to Robert. His juvenile ugly statements are nothing but divisive. Should we also liken all Atheists to the Atheists' Hitler and Stalin?

No government can give you a Paradise. But, what an overwrought government and its politicians can visit upon you when it wishes to despotically dictate and mandate through legislative edict every aspect of your personal life is an absolute Hell on earth.

It seems we have in this era been bestowed with a full blown despot in the White House who seems to narcissistically believe that he is superior to his sacred oath of office.

Archer - I fully concur with your statement. Sadly, Social Engineers such as the Progressive Mental Amoeba's like RBESRQ pathetically don't get it and mysteriously assume that we support Progressive GWB's egregious and constitution shredding Patriot Act.

What we don't hail or support RBESRQ are Progressive Activists who sit on either side of the aisle who are blatantly willing to diminish, shred and gut any of our natural born Unalienable Rights and protections.

I only wish we had more wise and witty humorists like Will Rogers in the 21st Century.

Is Barack Obama America's Own Current Day Quisling?
"Vidkun Quisling, (born July 18, 1887, Fyresdal, Nor.—died Oct. 24, 1945, Akershus Fortress, Oslo), Norwegian army officer whose collaboration with the Germans in their occupation of Norway during World War II established his name as a synonym for “traitor."

Quisling’s attempts to convert the church, schools, and youth to National Socialism aroused fervent Norwegian opposition. He was held responsible for sending nearly 1,000 Jews to die in concentration camps. After the liberation of Norway in May 1945, he was arrested, found guilty of treason and other crimes, and executed. - - Encyclopedia Britannica

George Washington was not an Isolationist .. but, instead a wise Non-Interventionist who did not believe in getting entangled in other nations broils.
Washington also stated, "The great rule of conduct for us in regard to foreign nations is, in extending our commercial relations to have with them as little political connection as possible.... Trust in temporary alliances for extraordinary emergencies... steer clear of permanent alliances with any portion of the foreign world." (President George Washington, Farewell Address, 1797)

George Washington: "The constitution vests the power of declaring war in Congress; therefore no offensive expedition of importance can be undertaken until after they shall have deliberated upon the subject and authorized such a measure." (1793.)

James Madison also were Non-Interventionists and stated the following,

"To cherish peace and friendly intercourse with all nations having correspondent dispositions; to maintain sincere neutrality toward belligerent nations; to prefer in all cases amicable discussion and reasonable accommodation of differences to a decision of them by an appeal to arms; to exclude foreign intrigues and foreign partialities, so degrading to all countries and so baneful to free ones; to foster a spirit of independence too just to invade the rights of others, too proud to surrender our own, too liberal to indulge unworthy prejudices ourselves and too elevated not to look down upon them in others...." James Madison
Madison's Inaugural Address - The American Presidency Project - March 4, 1809

"Honest friendship with all nations, entangling alliances with none," - (President Thomas Jefferson, Inaugural Address, 1801)

The Council of Foreign Relations, The Trilateral Commission and the Bilderberg Group were all formed to undermine the sovereignty of nations and place them all under a One World Government authority and control.

You can always depend on a Big Brother government to stifle and chill the ardor of the innovators.
