It is recess when they can laugh, run and play, and socialize with their classmates and friends 2Reply Waffler, Smith, Arkansas 1/7/09 re: Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. quote Except when they are uneducated and can not read or write. Thank got for compulsory education so that most or at least many parents in America can read and write and thus want the same thing for their children. 1Reply Waffler, Smith, Arkansas 1/7/09 re: Manfred B. Zysk quote All kids are bad; My kid is one of the all kids above; Thus my kid is a bad kid also; 5Reply Waffler, Smith, Arkansas 1/6/09 re: Richard Mitchell quote You guys Mike and Ken are the enemies of science and Ken has made the reason clear. He thinks that a green environmental policy will cost him something. It has nothing to do with the truth of science but with how much of a cheap skate and how selfish vs slefless one is. Again those who attack Al Gore and that oil guy etcetera are enemies of truth and mankind. Reply Waffler, Smith, Arkansas 1/6/09 re: Voltaire quote Guys like Mike and Bryan who live in a country such as the USA, which most others beat a path to for freedom and education at its great universities, can state the garbage they state about the lack of availability of core truths or that Americans are ignorant drones, well it just leaves me baffled. It would appear that they are the drones. I would suggest trying to improve oneself. I suggest for those who are beyond the normal age of formal education try "The Teadching Company.com" which publishes courses from many universities on many subjects of interest like polictics, philosophy, religion, history etc. No one especially anyone who comes on this site needs to feel like a drone and can educate themselves and need not go around judging their fellow citizens in this way.. 3Reply Waffler, Smith, Arkansas 1/6/09 re: Thomas Hodgskin quote Mike you are a slave to your own arrogance and are to small minded to think anyone knows anything. That is not being free but you is being a slave to your own ignorance. 13Reply Waffler, Smith, Arkansas 1/6/09 re: Thomas Hodgskin quote Everyone apparently is slave minded except for the judgemental Mike, look to thyself and thy mntality and education Mr. Mike. He thinks every quote is a negative comment on current "Amerika" even if it was written 300 years ago. 2Reply Waffler, Smith, Arkansas 1/6/09 re: Thomas Hodgskin quote BS! Everyone teaches from their own experience. Get what you can from them and then go out on your own to a world of discovery. 5Reply Waffler, Smith, Arkansas 1/5/09 re: Richard Mitchell quote Thank God the USA is a free wheeling society where education is free and diverse. I agree with the Gentelman from Reston and Sarasota are on the right track. Those like Mike who deny science are some sick dudes. An eucated person knows that Al Gore did not invent anything but he was a part of the congressional thinkers that were instrumental in bringing the internet into fruition. It was his enemies who spread the story that he said that he had invented the internet. He never said that and those who claim he did say that are the liars and enemies of truth and science, just like they are the enemies of enivronmental science. May they all rot somewhere is my prayer. 2Reply Waffler, Smith, Arkansas 1/5/09 re: Sir Winston Churchill quote Schools, grammar, jr and sr are a place to learn basic skills of study and learning. Once one learns to study he can then learn and do anything. That is what college is for. Reply Waffler, Smith, Arkansas 1/2/09 re: Sir Francis Bacon quote Yes things are good to be known. 3Reply Waffler, Smith, Arkansas 1/1/09 re: Patrick J. Buchanan quote All I can say about Pat and his quote is Duh! Reply Waffler, Smith, Arkansas 1/1/09 re: Friedrich Nietzsche quote What I meant to say Mike is give me facts not beliefs. Belief is like an estimate or a guess sometimes we do have to make estimates, guesses, or take a shot in the dark as a belief. The Bible says that faith or belief is the essence of things unknown so it is an estimate. Evolution and global warming are analyses of bodies of facts and the conclusion that what we have seen happening in the past will continue to happen in the future. Happy New Year dude! Reply Waffler, Smith, Arkansas 12/31/08 re: Friedrich Nietzsche quote Belief has nothing to do with scientific truth. "Believing" may be the enemy of open mindedness. Reply Waffler, Smith, Arkansas 12/30/08 re: John Adams quote You guys really live in a different America than I do. I see relgious fervor every where but of course I am in the Bible belt but beyond that America is know as a nation of religious sentiment, moral back bone and liberty. What Adams was/is saying is Americans should not but individuals on a pedastal but should look to the highest and universal ideals of religion, morality and liberty. Compared to many societies we still do. You want to trade it in? Not me! Reply Waffler, Smith, Arkansas 12/30/08 re: George Bernard Shaw quote Happiness comes from the freedom to believe, not believe, or to say I don't know or I don't care. Those who forcefully try to push people to believe or not believe are the sad ones. So Bob yes freedom of choice is what liberty is all about. I give it one star for being a thought provoking quote. Reply Waffler, Smith, Arkansas 12/29/08 re: Hilaire Belloc quote Okay! Sounds like paradignm shift to me. Reply Waffler, Smith, Arkansas 12/29/08 re: Charles Chiniquy quote I think you are right StanLee. The Roman Church was the only power to recognize the Confederacy, they apparently wished for the demise of the Union. The ideas of the USA and the union (freedom) were and may still be anathema to the totalitarianism of the Roman Universal Church (Rome today, the Universe tomorrow). The Pople wrote a letter to Jefferson Davis which in deplomacy is considered to be recognition. Catholic and "mainstream" persecution is what started the exodus to this land of the free. Reply Waffler, Smith, Arkansas 12/29/08 re: Abraham Lincoln quote Thank God for Presidents that can use the English language, and for Illinois who gives them to us. Lincoln, Adlai Stevenson, and Barack Obama. Reply Waffler, Smith, Arkansas 12/28/08 re: Thomas Jefferson quote Good stuff Ken. 15Reply Waffler, Smith, Arkansas 12/26/08 re: Jesus of Nazareth quote Today some want to make public places like schools Houses Of Prayer and thus to coerce others into forced prayer. God forbid such a thing that he must surely detest. 2 Reply Waffler, Smith, Arkansas 12/26/08 re: Jesus of Nazareth quote Jesus, if not who people generally say he was/is he was/is the greatest politician and psychologist ever, for who is venerated, read and studied and live by more than He or His words. Reply Waffler, Smith, Arkansas 12/26/08 re: Thomas Jefferson quote Jefferson = an honest man! Reply Waffler, Smith, Arkansas 12/24/08 re: Justice Robert H. Jackson quote I don't know what Mike is smoking again because many commentators world wide see America as one of the most religous countries in the world. Reply Waffler, Smith, Arkansas 12/24/08 re: Thomas Jefferson quote Yea for Mr. Jefferson an honest man! Why is it that the truly religious men get attacked the most by the organized religious men. Lincloln was considered unrelgious my many of his contempoaries but history treats him as one of our most spiritual and high minded Presidents. This is why many say that the "religious right" is religiously wrong. Previous 25 Next 25 SaveOk2 Share on Facebook Tweet Email Print
