Emerson quote It's not Global Warming, it's Climate Change due to man greed. Just read your history books and look up Uruk, once the largest city in the world. 11Reply RBESRQ 1/22/10 re: Thomas I. Emerson quote Well done Waffler, nice to put the record straight. Next it will be suppression of the internet; suppression of dissident's; suppression travel; suppression of all free people. Then America you may just realize who the true terrorists are. Reply RBESRQ 1/22/10 re: Woodrow Wilson quote Well done Reston - you have it right. Unfortunately the gentleman from Austin has to understand the true meaning of life and living and then perhaps he will understand the power behind compassion. Nearly all philosopher’s, intellectual’s, Christian’s (some), atheist’s, and guru’s believe the foremost attribute to an equitable life for all is through compassion. Krishnamurti has a wonderful passage on this in his book “The Pocket Krishnamurti” With compassion there is intelligence and through that intelligence there is compassion. Jim, please read this book, but read it slowly and let the words speak for themselves - Liberty is define in compassion. Reply RBESRQ 1/21/10 re: J. Robert Oppenheimer quote The 20 signs of a fascist America are nearly complete - the Iron Curtain still exists in America... but it's not between Russia and the USA its between the American Government and its people. Reply RBESRQ 1/21/10 re: Hedrick Smith quote The purpose of the fascist right especially after today, the day America lost its soul, is to have as many intelligentsia leave the US as possible - a bit like what the Romans did to the Celts but they killed them. Reply RBESRQ 1/20/10 re: Ronald Reagan quote These three quotes remind me of the Obama rhetoric (change you can believe in) in the run up to the presidential election none of which came to fruition - they both say one thing and do another. Reply RBESRQ 1/20/10 re: Ronald Reagan quote He speaks with fork tongue - well done John Mann - I'm with Judith five stars Reply RBESRQ 1/19/10 re: Robert Briffault quote When you have absolutism growth stops Reply RBESRQ 1/19/10 re: Joseph A. Schumpeter quote Judith I'm a progressive or Liberal Reply RBESRQ 1/18/10 re: Octave Mirbeau quote There are two sides to this coin with regards to the civilized world those who serve and those who are being served. You can die blissfully with the dagger in your heart or painfully with the dagger in your back. Reply RBESRQ 1/18/10 re: Joseph A. Schumpeter quote Liberals will be the savior of this poor state the countryis in. Liberals like their past peers will again rescue America from the clutches of fascism. 22Reply RBESRQ 1/14/10 re: Thomas Paine quote Time, our lifetime companion, is no more a matter of passing hours, days, years, but a moment, and each moment is time to change. The making of our Universe, short of a millisecond, would change all that; so time is not important - what is important is the moment and what we do it. I'll give it five for it's other meaning. Reply RBESRQ 1/13/10 re: Thomas Jefferson quote Perfect! I'll sleep on that... 95 percent of the time we don't have all the facts but the other 5 percent we think we do. And on that rare occasion we act immediately Reply RBESRQ 1/13/10 re: Ovid quote Yes, we had it so much better when we were children... Reply RBESRQ 1/13/10 re: John Milton quote Wow! what a reflection on the USA Reply RBESRQ 1/12/10 re: Oscar Wilde quote An art forgotten in America - just leave your ego at the door - good Carlton Reply RBESRQ 1/12/10 re: Justice Hugo L. Black quote At the moment that's the least of our troubles - we have and are making so many political mistakes we are doomed - our first major political mistake was allowing our military free range and the creation of the CIA Reply RBESRQ 1/11/10 re: William Shakespeare quote Especially if they are quiet Reply RBESRQ 1/9/10 re: Leon Blum quote Thought is always free - its not man's thought that makes him free its his ability to live freely without fear in the moment. Reply RBESRQ 1/7/10 re: Henri Frederic Amiel quote Add Liberty to yourself before others, and then, you maybe, just maybe, in a position to request it from others.
