Unfortunately statesmen like Ron Paul are sidelined by talking heads and partisan media house.

(-; lol, I like it ;-) RKA yep, and the media, having been elevated or raptured - becoming the unwritten 4th branch of government, is full of politicians that need to turn into statesmen..

"Statesman, a politician of distinguished ability or influential in state affairs or policy." I think a statesman is simply a mature politician, like those in Congress now who are saying "quit pointing fingers" and get something done. There is a time for discussion and disagreement (politics) and a time for conclusion and agreement (statesmanship).

A politician is someone who buys your vote with your money, or at least tries to. They create the messes and then want to "solve" the problems they create. We would be far safer and more solvent if we just gave everyone in the US congress a fancy hotel suite in Hawaii,10 million bucks each, and with the stipulation that they could not return to Washington or pass any bills of any sort for the time they are in office.

Well, I'm glad Waffler's not a politician -- if he were, every time he'd pull out a dictionary to try to define something, we'd all somehow end up losing all protections to our freedom and liberty...

We only hear the line "quit pointing fingers" when there is no conservative can be found to blame. We need a lot of finger pointing and fast. We are being sold a bill of goods. The people that are responsible for the present mess are patting themselves on the back and saying how good of a job they did saving us. They hope to keep us in the dark long enough to get re-elected. Short memory well then be counted on next time.
