Prime example; the National Defense Authorization Act, where the Senate (93 to 7) has openly declared war on We The People, the Constitution, Bill of Rights, freedom, the "LAW" of Nature and of Nature's God, justice, and the Representative Republic. If history serves, within the next 4 to 6 years there will be a major push to eliminate all private guns under the shield of law and in the name of justice.

It just continues to get worse.

Another example of Law vs. Justice. Sadly we no longer have a Justice system, and as Mike points out they want to turn us into sheep to be disposed of at will. Never give up the right and the means of self defense.

Why do you suppose some of the greatest quotes on freedom come from France? Because these people got out and fought their oppressors. The Takeover people have the right idea. At least they're doing SOMETHING. While you guys just sit around and birch. If you believe in liberty you should support them. They need a strong leader; this is where you can walk the walk.

Montesquieu was rejected by France, his books banned by the Catholic church. Much of Europe embraced his thoughts, as also American founding fathers. Now, in America we favor our Independence, of which Montesquieu did not.
America is talking the talk And walking the walk of Liberty and Freedom as individual sovereignty comes back to light in the public conscience. WWG1WGA to MAGA to KAG

Hanson, who are the "Takeover people"? Occupy Wall Street? They haven't got a clue. And how do you know all I (or anybody) do is sit around and "birch". :-) I educate people everyday in survival techniques and awareness of where the real problems are. (Govt./ Banks)The answer is not the communist notion of "tax the rich", which is short sighted and moronic at best.

Hanson, Do you mean the Occupy people when you mention the "takeover" people? The Occupy people don't have a clue and are mostly people who want something for nothing. They are the ones sitting around expecting handouts from the government.

Every ambitious would be empire clarions it abroad that she is conquering the world to bring it peace, security and freedom, and is sacrificing her sons only for the most noble and humanitarian purposes. That is a lie, and it is an ancient lie, yet generations still rise and believe it. GS Boutwell

If America ever does seek Empire, and most nations do, then planned reforms in our domestic life will be abandoned, States Rights will be abolished--in order to impose a centraized government upon us for the purpose of internal repudiation of freedom, and adventures abroad. The American Dream will then die--on battlefields all over the world--and a nation conceived in liberty will destroy liberty for Americans and impost tyranny of subject nations. George S Boutwell

...a centralized government... ...AND IMPOSE TYRANNY ON SUBJECT NATIONS...

        Waffler, Smith

These are great quotes today. Thought provoking and timeless. Only those with axes to grind above think the quotes are actually about the world around us today. Only when two or more people get together and talk about doing something like controlling polution, clean air, global warming or fighting terrorism do they get all upset and decry the very existence of Government. If you have read their comments and their take on these quotes over the years you will find a common thread. THEY ARE AGAINST PEOPLE IN GENERAL (themselvese excluded of course) AND ESPECIALLY AGAINST PEOPLE DOING THINGS IN CONCERT OR TOGETHER!

        Mike, Norwalk

Waffler, welcome back, we missed you ;-) Where else can we smile so big at such, well - ahhh - ? ? ? Contrary to your misguided belief system, socialism is in practice and fact, not people working together as much as the mass doing what their slave masters tell them. We, of your pointed statement, love people, law, justice, inalienable rights, freedom and liberty. Individual sovereigns working together is a great personal prerogative. I, in concert with my fellow church goers, community groups, and just people that join in out of the blue, do wonderful things in concert. Your advocating compelled compliance, victimless crimes, licenses, larceny with impunity and indentured servitude demonstrates there is no crueler tyranny than that which is perpetrated under the shield of law and in the name of justice.

        J Carlton, Calgary

Waffler confuses coordinated effort of like minded individuals with Socialism, which is Communism without the gun barrell pointed at you. There is a major difference between the two.

        Mike, Norwalk

Waffler, an example of what you and I have said came to mind. For well over a year I went down to help in Katrina clean up and re-build the area, almost every week end, on my own dime. I worked with those people that you say are against people in general and are especially against people doing things in concert or together. AND THEN, I remember you remarking how after it was all cleaned up you went down and had a beer with the locals enjoying the jazz. After your life time of legalized larceny (thieving from people - individuals and in concert), actions do speak louder than words

        Waffler, Smith

I am sorry Mike my characterization of your persona, mentality or way of thinking remains intact. Thanks for the welcome back. PS: The above goes for Carlton also.

        Mike, Norwalk

Waffler, I would be disappointed if your characterization of me didn't remain intact. The facts speak for themselves. The welcome back was whole heartedly meant. Just sorta proves up the Twain quote today. One really does have to be true to himself. And a P.S., I'm sure Carlton feels better now that you have included him also. ;-)

Just another example that Liberty requires Free Thought. We are certainly living in an Orwellian world where Truth is a Lie and Justice is Servitude. Waffler rarely disappoints and is the poster boy for groupthink. It is not that the liberty-conscious do not work together, it is that they resist being controlled. Individual sovereignty, choice, responsibility, honor, mutual respect -- all this is wasted on Waffler, he has no concept. In his world, we are perpetual children in need of control by the group... by perpetual children! Grow up, Waffler, and let the rest of us, too.

        L. Hanson, thanks for your feedback. We are in need of more Liberty quotes from other countries than the US - can you please send us some? From France and Canada would be great. Thank you.

        J Carlton, Calgary

Waffler I appreciate your attention. But know this, I remain unnaffected on any level by your thinking which is demonstratably insane at the best of times. Akin to being yelled at by a homeless tourettes victim...it evokes only a sense of sorrow that nature could be so cruel. ;-)

America is nolonger a democracy  representation is only for the corporate elite and the MIC. And, of course Israel. We have become a nation of sheep happy with our lot, happy with our respective bubbles... Capitalism will be the death of America. The money we spend on WAR, death and destruction, and a defunked health care system, could easily pay for free healthcare, a better education system, and shelter for the poor.

;-) LOL! America was NEVER a democracy, never founded as a democracy, and the word democracy does not appear in either the Declaration of Independence or the US Constitution.  Just stop it.  The USA is made up of a confederation of sovereign republics  each guaranteed to have a REPUBLICAN form of government.  Learn the difference.

Secondly, 'capitalism' is nothing more than the 'boogey-man'  the enemy of communists, totalitarians, and authoritarians.  In truth, the US economic system closely mirrors that of the communist nations  a central bank that creates money out of nothing and loans it to the government.  In communist countries, the central bank is controled by the central government, but in Western countries, the central banks are independent from their debtor governments.  As such, central banks rule the world, and frankly, the US government has been transformed into a subservient power to the private Federal Reserve Banks.  Call it fascism, communism, socialism, authoritarianism, but do not call it capitalism because that is NOT CAPITALISM.  Where is the capital?

Caring for ones' health, education, and shelter are all personal responsibilities; helping those in need is also a personal gift and contribution to others.  Centralizing health care, education, and housing is just more of the same totalitarian solutions  by the way, once all privatization is gone, everyone will be a slave to the state. And good luck with that!!  Politicians cannot be trusted  how in hell do you expect to run this utopian dream?
