George WashingtonGeorge Washington, (1732-1799) Founding Father, 1st US President, 'Father of the Country'

George Washington Quote

“The alternate domination of one faction over another, sharpened by the spirit of revenge, natural to party dissension, which in different ages and countries has perpetrated the most horrid enormities, is itself a frightful despotism … The disorders and miseries, which result, gradually incline the minds of men to seek security and repose in the absolute power of an individual; and sooner or later the chief of some prevailing faction, more able or more fortunate than his competitors, turns this disposition to the purposes of his own elevation, on the ruins of Public Liberty.”

A perfect portrayal of the malignity of party spirit.

Authored by his own hand, a remarkable reflection of the genius of the American Colossus who was George Washington.

Death to the political party

E Archer, NYC

Brilliant! Where is this consciousness today among our representatives? It is certainly arising within the populace; something has got to give.

Mike, Norwalk

George Washington was truly a man of great conscience, truth and wisdom.

Fredrick William Sillik, Anytown

If President Washington is saying we are sacrificing public liberty at the price of elevated officers, I agree. Socialism has no elevated officials, it's in the business of reason and reasonable members.  Socialism is the vision of social abilities to create.
