Infamous Humanist Manifesto, Article 12 Quote

“We deplore the division of humankind on nationalistic grounds. We have reached a turning point in human history where the best option is to transcend the limits of national sovereignty and to move towards the building of a world community. We look toward the development of a system of world law, world order, based upon transnational government.”

When DC is sufficiently distant that tyranny knows no bounds, moving the rule making to a more distant jurisdiction would only increase the suffering and inability to throw off the villains.

When the idiots from the other countries can't manage their own affairs, why would anyone think that when you stuck them all together, they could manage ours?

E Archer, NYC

My guess is that few Humanists realize that 'the state' is a fiction that lives at the expense of the individual, themselves. We may as well pray for a benevolent king.

Just as the city state has gone to its death for the benefit of all man-kind, so too will today's "nations".

Mike, Norwalk

LOL A from R VA, Do you make this stuff up as a joke just to see what kind of rise you get out of people; and if you don't, why do you think a one world government would be any better and more accessible than our current situation? The city state didn't die for the benefit of all man-kind, it was gobbled up by a large militaristic tyrant to suffer under distant rule.

The 1973 Humanist Manifesto has been quoted with some errors although the gist of it is intact. However, that is NOT the current Humanist Manifesto but is obsolete. The Humanist Manifesto applicable at this time is Humanist Manifesto 3, of 2003, available on line at www.AmericanHumanist.org

The VFW? Well, most veterans of foreign wars went abroad as obedient servants of the government doing the bidding of the administration. However there are some veterans of foreign wars who went at private expense, not taxpayers expense, and they fought for freedom against Fascism while the FDR administration was still all buddy-buddy cozy with Hitler and Mussolini. One third of them gave their lives. The veterans of the Abraham Lincoln Brigade deserve honor. They had convictions, acted on them, and paid their own way. As for the hundreds of bases abroad today where our military is used to try to control affairs outside our borders, they should all be brought home. Let the rest of the world defend itself. Or not. It's their choice. America first.

The world has history of oppressed people fleeing murderous regimes to take their chances in a new country to find freedom. Where are we supposed to go when the one world government becomes a murderous, totalitarian regime? The answer is, of course, nowhere. Your only choice will be submit or die.

Eric Engstrom, Wichita, KS

Humanists huh? Sounds like te left wing of the Democratic Party to me. Their wacko ramblings will keep them out of power for generations to come, thank God!!

Idiotic, pathetic, dangereous, and hopelessly naive

warren, olathe

One perfect World Government run by only perfect people. No one in a position of power with anything but the highest expectations for mankind. Wow a real heaven on earth. All we have to do is let the Kofi Annan' of the world save us.

No Thanks.

The history of man is the history of a rising population and closer proximity to each other, thus the natural and inevitable lapse of so called individuality and freeedom. Unity and cooperation with each other in ever larger organizations is not a choice but a necessity in an increasingly overly populated world. Isolationist Republican philosophy kept the United States from joining the League of Nations and kept the worlds eyes averted while they aided and abetted Nationalist (Deucthland UberAlles-German over all) Socialism in Germany. The US failure led to WWII and the establishment of the United Nations. The idea of the United Nations is no more idiotic than was the establishment by the colonies of the United States. And some day I feel certain there will be a United Federation of the Universe. Mike your provincialism is so apparent when you call people in other countries idiots, what exactly do you think their opinion is of you?

never the twain shall meet.people can't even get past their race identity and cultural values.what we need is a great deluge to cleanse the earth of human beings and the universe will be thankful ever after.Igo-Austin,tx.

The humanist agenda will ruin the world. A world government takes away all options from anyone who opposes the current dictator (s). It will result in nothing less than a complete enslavement of all peoples. There is no person who is moraly fit to rule with absolute power over any other! Only God himself is wise enough to fit that bill, and he promises FREE WILL TO ALL! Never the less build your world government, your tyrany. God is waiting for it to be finished in all it's glory, so he can rip it down in the sight of all! Then all will see it and know never to do that again!

Tony, Maryland

Just read the excerpt from the Humanist Manifesto. The last part of that sentence to control all peoples of the earth. Yes nothing short of a statement showing unlimited greed for power and an absolute disregard for personal freedom.

Robert, Somewhere in the USA

I think we are all in agreement on this one! well, nearly...

Patrick Henry, Red Hill

As it is written:

"Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall."

~ Proverbs 16:18

The hubris of contemporary inheritors of the mantle of Nimrod is boundless.

Their efforts will prove to be as unavailing as were those of their megalomaniacal predecessor.
