Now it's an "Indian" saying? It's usually attributed to Tibetan Buddhists. Probably written by some ad executive. Catchy slogan for a T-shirt, but that's about it.

Every one dies and it may even be possible to die happily or at least contentedly. The first sentence is absolutely true. It is up to the individual to make the last sentence true.

Simple and straightforward--regardless of the source. Sad and frightening that some can't appreciate the guidance that is offered in this statement and apply it to their own lives. Who will cry and why will they cry when you are gone?

Well said Waffler & kg. To go to one's death full in the knowledge of being missed by those left, and having left the world better for your time in it is indeed a form of rejoicing at a life well lived.
