Never let a good crisis go to waste. This is not just the foundation of Strauss' neoconservativism but also, all forms of socialism

Byron, Fort Collins

Today's quotations are outstanding!

It's really a very simple trick and it works well on very simple people...impoverish the masses through taxation, inflation and cumbersome regulation, then "save" them from it all with welfare. And now you have a nation of dependants. Cute trick.

J Carlton, said well - great observation

Thanks Mike. I guess I should have included "corporate welfare" in that statement too. Hopefully it's implied. ;-)

Oldest trick in the book.

We re-elect the same bunch that cause all the trouble and then expect them to fix things. Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large numbers.

We the people have allowed this bloated maggot called government to have it's way because we the people don't want to invest the time to watchdog it...football games, vacations, the newest cars, the biggest house, fun and games are more important. Indeed it takes time, sometimes hours spent in meetings put on by those who push an agenda to take away more rights, more control of our property, even taxing the air we breath. Having spent several years in the politicalwatchdog arena, those who are talking utopia and pushing for control expect that they'll get away with their socialist agendas...and sadly they have...it takes time, dedication and sometimes money to stop these crooks. Most people don't even bother to vet candidates who promise all and talk the talk...it takes time to actually research their records (and it's all online!) But what a burden to see if what they've said is true.
America started out as a nation of strong self reliant people passionate for liberty and the freedom to live as a free people, and the guts to defend it at all costs. It doesn't  take long for the "good life" to soften a fighter.

Assuredly, a devoted, committed, and loyal citizenry will cure the diseases of the government; for Socialism is the challenge of socialized behavior to create.

Socialism challenges individual sovereignty, inalienable rights and liberty at nature's law. Socialism, through its many denominations, creates pain, suffering, poverty, anger, violence, death, war and all else that is contrary to the nobility of man.
