Ludwig von Mises Quote

“Many of those who attack capitalism know very well that their situation under any other economic system will be less favorable. Nevertheless, with full knowledge of this fact, they advocate a reform, e.g., socialism, because they hope that the rich, whom they envy, will also suffer under it.”

Patrick Henry, Red Hill

It is not that the exponents of socialism and its variations are averse to particular persons being powerful and privileged, it is that it is a matter of perfect conviction for them that it is they, perfect studies in moral and intellectual superiority whom they esteem themselves to be, who ought to be powerful and privileged.

So much for egalité.

It is incredible true !
Envy is the principal engine that makes socialism, communism, fascism etc so strong in the mind of the people.
Envy is the worst and most dangerous of all human feeling.
I saw it in Chile with communist Allende and now in Venezuela with his communist regime

Robert, Somewhere in the US

Stupid quote with no idea what the hell he is talking about.

In areas like the U.S., China, Russia, U.k., etc., where a combination of communism and fascism are the dominant religion / politics, capitalism will never be fully known or understood. Simple realizations of: 1) applications of the 2nd plank of the communist manifesto; and, 2) implementation of debt, notes, etc., replacing money demonstrate that even a façade of crony-capitalism is better than a more complete collective/centrist economic system. Many of those who attack capitalism are actually focusing on crony-capitalism and are nothing more than useful idiots.

At natural law (inclusive of liberty and inalienable rights), the creation of wealth and ownership (perfected allodium, not mere title) of/by/with capital (unencumbered tangible money with intrinsic value - a laissez-faire / NO government involvement of/with invested gain) = Capitalism; along with, an exchange of goods, services and otherwise wealth in a free market system are together a system that is complete and without exception, foreign to the economic system that officially infests the entirety of the world.

Robert, Somewhere in the US - You are the immature ignoramus who calls people "stupid" without any explanation supplying any explanation at how you arrived at your convoluted conclusion.

Socialism is the creed of blood-suckers -- they wish only to live off the work of others as 'managers,' 'administrators,' 'officers,' 'planners,' etc.. They claim to be champions of the worker but would never consider such work for themselves personally. Socialism encourages powerlessness -- they are the 'saviors' of our victimhood. People not in need of saving are the enemy. Self-reliance is considered selfish. The goal of socialism is to tear down, to domesticate, to socially engineer society, to change the way people self-identify -- they have the answer to who I am and why I am here. To reject their plans is to be a capitalist pig worthy of violence, which is put into 'law' in order to intimidate the independent. Socialism is just another con -- it has never delivered on its promises and never will.
