Unfortunantly we have granted "dukedoms" to the few, they reside in the Oval office and the Congress.

What's even scarier than having Obama as president is knowing that we have so many people willing to vote him in.

L. Hanson, perhaps you should sober up before sending that sort of nonsense.

I'm with J on this one.

There is no morality, code or not, in the government. They love to tell us how to behave while they do as they please. A Woodrow Wilson quote sums up government pretty well; "Government, in it's final analysis, is organized force".

5 stars for the Spooner quote.

My first vote was for Eisenhower back in 1951 which dates me as an old codger. His worst mistake was appointing Earl Warren to the Supreme Court for which he said later that he regretted. Since then I've voted for the most part to keep one scoundrel out only to be replaced by another less villanous. Even at that I never thought that we would ever elect a communist but that day arrived 4 years ago and the nightmare continues.

I'm with GWAP and Sher, both made good comments. After last night, the nightmare continues.

I go along with J on this one.

Another way to judge a man's character is by how he treats animals.

Freedom is right and Socialism is wrong.

Or as Sam Rayburn once said, you have to go along to get along. For you youngsters, Sam was one of LBJ's cronies.

I agree with J and Mike.

A good quote to remember in case Obama wins the election. If he is elected it will seem hopeless but we must not give up.

I doubt that Reid, Pelosi, Obama, and the rest of the gang even have a conscience.

How many honest men and women do we have in Washington today. I suspect that you could get them all together at one time in an I Hop for breakfast.

Watch out for Libya. This could easily be our next entanglement.

World War 2 was the last "war" that was actually declared by the Congress. Over 50,000 troops were killed in both, Korea and Viet Nam and neither was a declared war. Whether declared or not, these troops are just as dead. Viet Nam started after JFK sent some "advisers" over there. Here's a scary thought; Obama just sent troops along the border of Libya. It's very possible that we could have troops fighting in Libya before long. This is how things get started.

If anyone can remember the Korean War in the early 50's. It wasn't really a war, it was called a police action. The boys who were killed and maimed in this "police action" probably thought it was a war. And whwt on earth are we doing in Afganistan? Over 2000 troops killed over there trying to civilize a bunch backward people stuck in the 7th century.

To follow up on J Carlton's accurate comments. Thanks to this thing called The War on Drugs you may be stopped by the cops and have your money or other property stolen while you are never charged with a crime. It's compliments of our Congress and goes by the name of Asset Forfeiture.

A great quote from one of my favorite free thinkers.

If I steal your money it's a crime; when the government steals your money, it's business as usual.

It's hard to argue with this. Clear and short.
