Reply jim k, Austin, Tx 4/11/12 re: Bob Wells quote And you can bet that the government program will cost a fortune and make mattera worse. Then the politicians will say that they just didn't spend enough on it and will appropriate more money. 1 Reply jim k, Austin, Tx 4/9/12 re: Robert C. Savage quote If you took basket weaving you would at least learn how to do something productive. 1 Reply jim k, Austin, Tx 4/9/12 re: Robert C. Savage quote Mark Twain said something along the lines of not letting school interfere with your education. Read subjects being taught in colleges today and you can see that there ain't much educatin' going on. We used to joke about a course in basket weaving but that would be a great improvement over courses like "women's studies". 4 Reply jim k, Austin, Tx 4/9/12 re: Thomas Szasz quote But Mike,he smiles while he's dismantling the country. He is always good for some comic relief. 2 Reply jim k, Austin, Tx 4/6/12 re: Thomas Sowell quote Good to have Komrad Waffler weighing in even if his comments make no sense. His dislike of this quote most likely is because Mr. Sowell is an African American, is brilliant, and is conservative. Libs just can't stand black conservatives. 1 Reply jim k, Austin, Tx 4/6/12 re: L. Neil Smith quote My favorite L.Neal Smith quote is this one: "Government is a disease masquerading as it's own cure". Reply jim k, Austin, Tx 4/5/12 re: Milton Friedman quote This is a good reason to stop arresting people for prostitution. Both parties in this case have something that the other party wants and they make a business deal to provide it. Cops waste many man and woman hours setting up traps to catch prostitutes and "johns" , time better spent catching real criminals. There seems to be a notion in this country that if something is a "sin" then it should be against the law. Maybe some puritanical instincts still carry over from when "witches" were burned. 4 Reply jim k, Austin, Tx 4/5/12 re: Milton Friedman quote Prohibition never works, almost everyone knows this, even the slugs in our congress. This being the case, why on earth do we have this "War on Drugs". Someone(s) up there must be making a ton of money on this and ain't it a great way to control folks. And governments always need a "war" of some kind to keep the sheep in the pen. Reply jim k, Austin, Tx 4/3/12 re: James O. Eastland quote The UN is a rat's nest of reds and should be sent to N. Korea. Reply jim k, Austin, Tx 4/3/12 re: Jack Anderson quote Oops, should read "main" instead of top. 2 Reply jim k, Austin, Tx 4/3/12 re: Jack Anderson quote It may not be the "top" espionage center but it's way up near the top. Reply jim k, Austin, Tx 4/2/12 re: Justice Scalia quote I'm with J on this. Reply jim k, Austin, Tx 3/30/12 re: Justice John Marshall quote Tell that to His Majesty, King Barack. Reply jim k, Austin, Tx 3/30/12 re: Justice John Marshall quote Our current crop of legislators seem to believe that their powers are unlimited. Certainly King Barack thinks so. 2 Reply jim k, Austin, Tx 3/29/12 re: Justice Melville Fuller quote The congress pays little except lip service to the Constitution so they aren't botherd by the 10th ammendment. 3 Reply jim k, Austin, Tx 3/29/12 re: Justice John Marshall quote States give these powers to the feds when they accept money from Washington. Reply jim k, Austin, Tx 3/28/12 re: Judge Alex Kozinski quote Well said, E Archer. 1 Reply jim k, Austin, Tx 3/28/12 re: Justice Clarence Thomas quote Along with OSHA, the EPA, and a host of other bureaus, they can and do regulate nearly everything now. 5 Reply jim k, Austin, Tx 3/27/12 re: William Jenner quote Shire, are you really nuts or do you just sound that way.Are you comparing the Tea "Bagers" to Hitler. (I assume you meant Tea Baggers). It's always interesting when someone exposes that bunch of reds known as the UN, the lefty supporters come out of the woodwork, see above. 5 Reply jim k, Austin, Tx 3/27/12 re: William Jenner quote I have a liberal democrat friend that I have coffe with about twice a month, and he tells this story. He used to send donations to UNICEF until he did some research. He found that the guy who runs UNICEF makes 0ne million two hundred thiusand dollars a year with perks galore. He also found that 5% of the donations actually reach any children. Typical UN hubris. we need to get rid of this bunch of commies.
