Reston, when someone is truly in need through no fault of their own, we should help them. However, we have a huge group of people in this country who love this victim role and won't take resposibility to improve their situation. Case in point, we have over 40 million people on food stamps in this land where opportunity abounds. I volunteer in a program to aid the homeless and at least 30% of these people could do better and should not be on the street. They get to many freebies to bother looking for work.

From a man who presided over a city which is now up to it's eyeballs in debt. As to "a compelling public interest", that's a joke. The hacks in Washington try to convince us that every hairbrained scheme they come up with is done because of a compelling public interest.

Our nation has survived this long in spite of our government, not because of it. The termites, however, are busy day and night working to destroy what's left of this once great nation.

When you folk in states such as Illinois, Michigan and Ohio where your economy has tanked, come on down to Texas, a right to work state with no state income tax and milder winters. We have plenty of room for you.

I'm with Byron on Cain or Paul getting the nomination, however, Reagan disappointed me, When he debated Jimmy Carter he promised that the first thing he would do in office would be to get rid of the Department of Education and one other alphabet department that escapes my memory. He did neither. Axing the Department of Education alone would have been a great thing to do. A few more such as HUD,EPA,DEA,DOE,OSHA,etc, need to go into the dust bin of history.

For any neophytes in the crowd, the term "Republican Government" is not a reference to the Republican Party, or any other political party.

To add to Mikes comments, let's not forget the liberal professors indoctrinating young heads full of mush. It starts in the lower schools and gets topped off in college.

Another of many reasons that schools are failing is the teachers unions. They make it almost impossible to fire ateacher, no matter how bad they are.

The so-called War on Drugs has caused more arbitrary seizure of private property than almost anything since the income tax was instituted in 1913. Since our congress passed asset forfeiture laws, cops have routinely taken property when no crime has been committed and no one is even charged with a crime.
