Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA US 2/29/08 re: George W. Bush quote It is far past time for Congress to do their constitutional duties... Impeach! 12Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA US 2/28/08 re: Norman Thomas quote The facist right has gone and don it again, reframed the arguments (see comments above) such that few even understand what the terms really mean. We are much closer to their facist goals than to any socialist goals, and what serves as a left today is really more of a moderate middle ground than having any hint of socialism. That day, sadly, is long gone. Thus you need a proxy to keep their eyes open to these issues for you. That proxy can not be the business that wants to buy crap and sell it to you as gold, rather it can and should be your representative in society: government. The same argument applies to all of the other areas Cavuto whines about. 21Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA US 2/11/08 re: Albert Jay Nock quote What a line... fully of "fuzzy think" and denial of our own origins. 1Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA US 1/25/08 re: Benjamin Franklin quote Yet another founding father who explicitly voices an opinion the Radical Religious Right would like to pretend does not exist... Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA US 1/23/08 re: Barry Goldwater quote Ah, for the days when you could actually respect the views & beliefs, and find common ground with someone whom you disagree with on many other fronts. Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA US 1/4/08 re: Indian Saying quote Well said Waffler & kg. To go to one's death full in the knowledge of being missed by those left, and having left the world better for your time in it is indeed a form of rejoicing at a life well lived. Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA US 12/31/07 re: Benjamin Franklin quote I enjoy a good pint now and again, but it is hardly "living proof" of anything. 2 Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA US 12/26/07 re: William Hazlitt quote It is amazing to me how some of the posters here can turn what is a powerful message of hope and thought for the needs of society into a hate statement against those of society who are less lucky than others and need society's support. It is doublely bizzare that one of these attacks against liberal US polititians comes from what appears to be a resident of Canada who is telling people (not clear of which country) to move to France... that is a logic only one of the ilk of King George W or his jestors could come up with... at least we agree on the quality of the quote, though it is fairly clear that the other poster must not really get the full meaning of what it says... Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA US 12/18/07 re: Thomas Jefferson quote I believe he would be so ashamed of the people of these United States, who have drifted so far from the vision he had for us. Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA US 12/17/07 re: Roger Williams quote Clearly Greg thinks he is though... Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA US 12/17/07 re: Albert Einstein quote Grand insight from a grand thinker. (And no insight from those whose comments seem to indicate a belief that there is but one path to enlightenment...) Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA US 12/12/07 re: Lord Herbert Louis Samuel quote Well said E! Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA US 12/11/07 re: Mahatma Mohandas K. Gandhi quote Sadly, those who worship war and those who pray for Armageddon also know this truth... 1 Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA US 12/5/07 re: Kingman Brewster quote While many aspects of our lives today fail this test, it appears to me that the better institutions (such as Yale) are passing it with flying colors... let us not forget that Yale has been a part of the education of both Clintons and Bush, as well as many other leaders, often with very different views, goals and policies. 1 Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA US 12/3/07 re: Peter McWilliams quote I agree with the sentiment, but disagree that education should make choices clear... rather it should make the process of choice clear and give you the tools to make that choice, be it clear or not so clear... 1Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA US 12/3/07 re: Thomas Jefferson quote TJ would be so saddened by where the GOP and radical right are attempting to take this country... no, not so much saddened, as enraged into action! Impeach! 1Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA US 11/28/07 re: Neal Boortz quote And yet, those with a true mind of their own will learn under public education systems... but rarely under these other systems. Just because the weak minded fail under all of these systems, does not mean that the system that does teach questioning is a failure. 21Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA US 11/28/07 re: Adolf Hitler quote All good indication that we must impeach (the Dick first, then the Bush). Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA US 11/14/07 re: Peter Abelard quote Truely, to question is the answer... 1Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA US 11/13/07 re: Harry S. Truman quote Impeach!
